Actually, I'm more libertarian leaning. However, I DO think Cruz has balls, and I like his position on a lot of things. When you are having to go to war against Republicans AND Democrats, you're doing something right.
I think Rand is the best option for a candidate that could actually win and will make some positive changes. The media and Republican establishment trashes Ted Cruz. However, a dude that memorized the entire constitution by age 7, I'm sorry. I have respect for.

THE QUESTION:
Doc.... Don't hate on The Cruz man! This country can't handle anymore big-government presidents. Bush then Obama back to back? God help us all. He doesn't stand a chance as he's hated by the establishment and progressives (a very impressive feat), but I've got nothing but respect. Junior senator coming in and making waves? Yes please.

Ahhh, I thought we were moving on to Rand Paul. I fully understand Cruz is too controversial and not bipartisan enough to ever win, much less get a bid. I happen to agree with most of his stances with the exception of the war on drugs and same-sex marriage, but that's another discussion.

Same Sex marriage.... Opposed to government intervention in all marital affairs, which would indirectly support SSM.
Remember, Hillary Clinton and President Obama have changed their views on everything from gay marriage, marijuana legalization, NSA, and foreign policy (namely the wars in the middle east.) Most politicians will say whatever necessary to get their target audience votes. My point being that I wish the electorate would get out of the two-party mind set. Limited government = more personal Liberty. The Republican establishment will be pushing Jeb Bush (yet another big-government candidate), who will be just as big of a failure as the other Bush. They have given us the illusion of choice with the D and the R, but honestly there's little difference IMO.

In all reality though, I'd go with Gary Johnson in that scenario.
Rand Paul learned from his dad that you have to go with a R or D behind your name to have a chance. Unfortunately, he's not only fighting the Democratic party, but the Republican party as well. Anyone that is a threat to the military-industrial complex will get smashed by the establishment and national media. After all, we can't have someone messing with all those back-office deals and the profits that come with them.

Can't help it, but Ted Cruz, for some reason, reminds me of Ted Nugent. Don't get me wrong, Nugent in my book is my kind of guy, but a bit of a wacko. I like Cruz but don't think Cruz will pull much weight in this election.
That's definitely the media narrative of him. However, this guy is intellectually as elite as they come. Cum Laude from Harvard, law degree from Princeton, president of the National champion debate team, 1992 National Speaker of the Year. I, personally, can't wait to see him debate Hillary. It will be total destruction. Because he read green eggs and ham to his daughter during a record philibuster, he's a moron? Nah.
My deal is how can anyone on either side of the Isle be okay with the current status quo? I've never seen such hypocrisy from establishment Republicans and Democrats. Dems hated Bush for the exact things that Obama has done during his administration two fold. Republicans loved Bush for the same things they now hate Obama for. It's insane. Give me a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz to return this country to liberty rather than an ever expanding government.
Fact is, we're now $19 Trillion in national debt, over $100 Trillion in unfunded liabilities, 93 million Americans dropped out of work force, 50 million Americans on food stamps, nsa, IRS, the list goes on. How anyone supports a candidate proposing more gov regulations, more gov entities, more taxes (basically status quo from the prior two administrations) is beyond me.
Give me a small government candidate ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
