Testosterone Only as HRT

I wondered if testosterone was used and no concurrent HCG dosing, if libido and energy would decrease over time as is often seen on steroid cycles.

Is the mechanism whereby libido drops from high dose steroid cycles, simply hard testicular shutdown?

There are many men who do very well on just Androgel, or a little test cyp, without any other meds added in. Mine represent state-of-the-art protocols, for the more "discerning" TRT patient.

With my TRT my doctor has suggested use of hCG every 4 to 6 weeks to help maintain testecular size etc.. Is this something that is typical? I was not aware doctors often looked at this additional supplimentation as a way to maintain libido and erectile function.

I'm secondary. 6-1 185. Pre-TRT testosterone ususally in the 120 ng/dl range. Pre-TRT E2 in the 60's.

I have always used HCG in my TRT regimens. However, my guys use it every week. Many men will tell you that their testes begin shrinking virtually from the start (whether from TRT or AAS), so it is my position that the atrophy should be staved off, rather than always playing catch up. IOW, why not keep the horse in the barn, rather than chasing it across three counties?
