you mention certain anti estrogens are not appropriate to use during testosterone/hcg therapy. which ones are? i'm talking about 100 mgs of testosterone per week with hcg 500 iu,twice a week.
thank you

Yes. Me too.

I have been on a variety of TRT styles from gels to shots to now pellets. I have always looked to aromatase inhibitors (arimimdex, Femera, Aromasin) to control my high levels of Estrone and Estradiol as opposed to the estrogen receptor antagonists like Nolva as they don't lower the estrogen, just block or distrupt it at the receptor sites.

Is my thinking correct? While on long-term Clomid therapy I was taking 2.5 mg of Femera once a day and sucessfully maintained my E2 at 20 pg/ml. When I went to Testim, my E2 plunged to 4 pg/ml (bad) so I cut out the Femera. I am a week away from my first labs with the pellets and am hoping to not have an issue but would like to hear youor response to the original post.

Thanks.

Scotty

IMPO, the testsosterone pellets are a barbaric form of TRT. They pose many problems, including the risks posed by ALL surgical interventions (infection and hemorrhage), make you quite sore (needlessly) and are extremely difficult to dose. The advantages of the pellets are that you can pretty much forget about your TRT for few months, and they release the T into your bloodstream at such a steady rate that accelerations in aromatase activity are largely avoided.

Also, Testim is vastly inferior to Androgel. The same amount of gel provides much less serum testosterone than does the Androgel product. I am hearing stories of Auxium representatives grossly misrepresenting their product, but I have read their package insert thoroughly. I probably need to disclose that I am sponsored by Solvay Pharmaceuticals, but everyone knows I tell it like it is (no matter what).

I prefer to maintain E2 at around 35 (<50).

mxim--I do not remember ever saying that certain anti-E's are innapppropriate during TRT. Can you be a little more specific, please?

Follow-up question for Swale

Swale, In an earlier post from back in March ( https://thinksteroids.com/community/threads/7464 ), you stated the following regarding Testim compared to Anrdogel. "Also, Testim is vastly inferior to Androgel. The same amount of gel provides much less serum testosterone than does the Androgel product. I am hearing stories of Auxium representatives grossly misrepresenting their product, but I have read their package insert thoroughly. I probably need to disclose that I am sponsored by Solvay Pharmaceuticals, but everyone knows I tell it like it is (no matter what)."

Have you reviewed the study by Marbury T, Hamill E, Bachand R, Sebree T, Smith T. on "Evaluation of the pharmacokinetic profiles of the new testosterone topical gel formulation, Testim, compared to AndroGel." ? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/...ve&db=PubMed&list_uids=12673669&dopt=Abstract The results of this study indicated that Testim provided a 30% higher level of testosterone than Androgel.

I'm 44 and have been using Testim for the past year and have had decent results. My Endo didn't prescribe a specific brand, but the pharmacy dispensed Testim; I guess it's my insurance's preference. BTW, I agree, Testim does smell (like a Dr. office ie. alchohol) and takes sometime to dry.. I will be going to my Endo within the next couple months for a follow-up and thought about asking him to switch me to Androgel, because of your preference of Androgel to Testim. However, after seeing the study which reports that Testim is the better of the two, I'm perplexed. Can you explain why you feel that Testim is inferior to Androgel? I'm also going to give my Endo a copy of your HRT protocol to enlighten him.
Thanks,
Sampson

My Endo mentioned something about a new testosterone gum do you know anything about it.

Regarding that study, which the Testim Drug Reps love to fool doctors with, let me ask one simple question: do you know anyone on TRT who only applies their topical gel once per week?

What a scam. I honestly cannot believe any researcher would be so stupid as to even do that study--unless they are being paid by Auxium to do so!

I hear of that lame study all the time.

Compare serum levels on Day 29 AFTER CONSTANT USE of both products. The graphs are included in the PI's of both drugs. THAT will demonstrate which product is superior.
