sterilizing multiple vials easy and fast. Any tips?

Any guys around here who sterilize their own vials but like 30 or maybe even more at once, what is your proces to make it fast and easy?

I have been homebrewing some time now. Have a bottle top filter setup that saves me tons of time and makes it possible to filter 250ml/500ml at once. But now the vials is still a pain in the ass. I tried cleaning them myself, 20 at a time. Bath of soap, clean them with a new toothbrush inside and out, wash them with water. Then clean with toothbrush again in a bath of 70% alcohol and last step is to put aluminum foil on top and place them in the oven. This way I get clear vials.

But this was getting boring, people told me on this forum to buy pre sterilized instead. So these vials will be delivered empty and crimped. This means i have to cut or destroy the crimped cap (and this is a hassle on itself already) and it will also leave some aluminum particles/small pieces that I dont wanna risk getting injected. Other solution would be to leave it as is, just flip the cap of and inject into the vial. But this way you can see the vial has been opened and if I had to give it to a friend this just looks weird.

Maybe I should try just throwing 30 pieces in a pan, boil it. Then throw them all in a bath of isopropyl 70% alcohol and into the oven. Or do you guys have any better ideas?

Bath with tap water and soap.
Rinse with tap water
Bath in 70% alcohol
Rinse with distilled
Rinse with distilled 2nd time
(otpional) autoclave/pressure cook them for 20'
Place upside down in disinfect foil on bottom in an oven and bake em for 2h @170c and 20' in 120c

Stoppers
Rinse with soap and water
Rinse with tap
30' in alcohol
Rinse with distilled
Put in oven in 120c for 20' (final step of vials)

Let them all cool down and in a laminar flow hood, flip vial, fill and put stopper and crimp

Or be a cautious person and only brew for you with pre sterilized

Whatever you do don't put in oven after alcohol unless you want to blow shit up

Some places sell 100 sterile 10 mL vials with just the rubber on them, without the metal crimp. If you want the places LMK

Don't want to be a dick but that won't sterilize anything.
The vials would be more close to sterile if he just got clinically clean vials and just filled them up than doing what you just suggested.

You need an autoclave to sterilize the vials. Heat + moisture + pressure.

I do know, that's why I prefer sealed depyrogenated vials myself for the past 15 years that I homebrew.
It's the easy way. But you will never know if the vials are truly sterile.
Our bodies can handle a lot of crap. People still use the method you described and it hasn't hurt anybody yet.

I know some smaller UG-labs that just ordered clean vials (not sterile) and just filled them with oil. Nobody had any issues with it.

If you brew a lot of gear do as drugsarefun and get those sterilization bags with indicator that shows that sterilization process is OK and get an autoclave from ebay or a pressure cooker that goes up to the right PSI.

Just personal use. I 've been doing it for 15 or so years and will continue to do it like that. I ain't gonna be no shitty ugl or brew for "friends". Having plenty cheap gear is all I need.

It's a pain in the ass to sterilize things so I fully understand. I'd take the easier route as well for personal use lol!

Btw what filters do you use and bottle? I hope your not still using syringe filters :D
My thumb hurts just thinking about syringe filters.

How do you get them from the oven to in front of the flow hood? Carry them with your unsterile hands through the unsterile air.
Bath in 70% alcohol
This is a waste of time, I'd like to know what your thought process for this is? Washing in soapy water is good, remove particles, rinse in distilled good to remove any soap and water deposits.
Alcohol is a waste of time as everything is killed in the oven/autoclave/pressure cooker.

Yeah syringe filters and occasionally a chalking gun. I brew for personal use only and volume is usually less than 100ml in total (I only use Test, Deca and Masteron) 20ml vials

In reality, in a ghetto setup like that, 100% sterile conditions ain't gonna be met no matter what. You can minimize the possibility of contamination but never go to 100% pharma set up.

With that in mind, let them cool down, flip and put silicone stopper, transfer to flow hood, remove stopper, fill, put stopper back, crimp. Not perfect, but most ugl have far worst conditions and procedures and we haven't had a string of folks rushing into the ER with abscesses that needed operation. BA to 2% as an extra precaution.

As far as alcohol, sure not needed just an extra step that doesn't hurt.

Someone already said this, but Ill say it again, that procedure doesn't sterilize anything..You're clearly an idiot. You need heat (270F) and steam(humidity)..

Bathe the vials in alcohol? lmao.. 120C isn't hot enough either.. Try again!
