SSRI while recovering natural testosterone?

I’m 18, did 4–5 months of 200 mg/week test e (I know big mistake). Stopped cold turkey two months ago, no PCT. Natural TT was ~700 ng/dL before the cycle. No idea where it’s at now, I plan to do a blood test in a month.

Psychiatrist prescribed escitalopram (Lexapro) for OCD. I’m wondering if an SSRI can slow down or mess with HPTA recovery after coming off test.

Anyone here ever run a SSRI while recovering natural test? How did it affect you?

Can raise prolactin which can mess with hpta but… doesn’t mean that you need to stop your treatment just because of that.
Regarding you stopping testosterone cold turkey
My first cycle was at 16 I think just dbol after that sustanon and then deca and all the good stuff .. I stopped cold turkey one day went through a really shitty year of recovery and hpta recovered
More than 3 kids different baby moms etc..
You’ll be alright..
Next time don’t bite the hype..

OCD sounds about right. You need to be on the meds. 5 months of test at that dose was pointless, but the fact you are on here whining about it means you're messed up in the head a bit.

Lexapro is an odd first choice. It does not have FDA approval for OCD, but probably could work. Fluoxetine is usually considered the safest SSRI for teenagers and does have an FDA indication for OCD.

What about fluvoxamine? It's been a favorite of a couple guys here

For some reason lexapro has been a hot one for MDs recently, why? no idea. For a while alot of them were on the Paxil train as well, and before that it was the blanket zoloft train which was imo dominant for at least the last decade as first line.

Lexapro is the most "pure" SSRI that has the most SERT activity. It also has the fewest side effects versus other SSRIs. Paxil is the worst SSRI. It is the only one with anticholinergic activity and has the most weight gain. You want to avoid anticholinergic drugs as they can cause cognitive decline.
