Well the 50mg anadrol will definitely do it, don’t expect to have normal liver functions on thatMostly anadrol 50mg but sometimes left over lady anavar usually 10mg but yeah stopped all that after my most recent set of labs no orals other than preworkout over the counter stuff now
Yeah that’s definitely been my guess as the biggest offender haha. On the upside I don’t drink alcohol anymore maybe 1 drink per month on average but often it’ll be months at a time I don’t have any alcohol these days so just tying to find that right balance for my liver. So no orals no alcohol and a few more rest days plus milk thistle, nac and tuduca daily is my current regiment. Hoping around early January to rerun labs and see if there’s an improvement. No real liver symptoms so far that I’ve noticed thoughWell the 50mg anadrol will definitely do it, don’t expect to have normal liver functions on that
You should be using TUDCA and NAC while running orals for the liverYeah that’s definitely been my guess as the biggest offender haha. This guy knows.Heavy lifting/cardio can raise your liver enzymes. Make sure you don't do any heavy lifting/ cardio for 7 days before Labs next time.
Thanks. Yea I this could be it. Since my ultrasound was fine I’m getting another blood test done to find antibodies. If this test comes back negative then I will try rest for 4 days then check my levels. Honestly I feel like this really could be it because I feel and am healthy otherwise. This guy knows.
Although it does not take 7 days to lower them. Through experimentation, I have found that 4 days of rest, no lifting, no cardio, is sufficient.
Bigbicep, seriously, take some time off of lifting and retest. My doctor had me all signed up to go to a liver specialist. I was freaking out thinking I had somehow killed my liver. I was researching online and discovered that this was extremely common in athletes. Moreover, these markers are not like other markers, where being slightly out of range is an issue. If there is real lover disease, these markers will shoot way up higher than your results.
So I took time off.
Now I almost always take a break from the gym just so that these numbers will come back in line.
If you do something physical that is intense, if you are sore, new cardio, anything, you will throw both these markers high.
Take a break and retest and let us know.
Thanks for the update. My liver vvalues were similar to yours the doctor was not concerned and said if I had hepatitis it would be way higher . He told me to retest in a few months and if still high I can do ultrasound, maybe fatty liver from diet but he said I'm in good shape so he doubts it .Hey guys. Just got my ultrasound results back and my doctor said my liver is normal. Not sure what’s causing the high enzymes atm. Also got tested for hepatitis and HIV lol came back negative. So now going forward I’m going to get more labs done for any antibodies and inflammation.
This is helpful I posted my labs in another thread and had ggt and bili on there which both are normal with a significantly elevated ast/alt. Is that mostly from working out hard? Would orals cause ast/alt to raise without effecting bili and ggt?![]()

Elevated AST & ALT is completely normal if you lift weight. Check also your Bilirubin to be sure. If GGT and Bilirubin is fine, your liver is in a good condition
Maybe I can contribute with my own experience, my ALT and AST were twice ref. range on TRT levels and first I was pretty confused. They were in normal range in past.
I was ill for a week and could not workout, meanwhile read about the enzymes and possible other reasons why they could be elevated. I had an abdominal ultrasound just some weeks before and everything looked very good.
Long story short, I took bloods after the week where I did no workout and everything was in range again. The enzymes also have activity in skeletal muscle tissue for example.
So I am kind of asking myself if you can even say orals are hard on the liver when you just check for ALT and AST for example. You for sure need more indiacators to judge on your liver health.

That’s well explained I really appreciate the insight I’ve been giving my liver a break after my last bloods from working out as many days and from orals but after my labs in December I’m probably going to restart anavar rather than anadrol if my ast/alt is improving and continue to give myself an extra day or two a week off from the gym to try to put a little less stress on the body for now. I’m taking milk thistle nac and tudca as well so hoping to see a major improvement on my panel next timeWhat I learned from many coaches is that if orals would damage your liver GGT and Bilirubin (general and direct) is elevated together with AST & ALT, so all 4 enzymes or at least GGT and Bilirubin BUT I'm not a doctor....it's just a shame that many doctors don't know this. At least here in Europe. For example: a heavy alcoholic only GGT is strongly elevated, in a liver cirrhosis in the recovery stage only bilirubin is elevated. The day after a heavy party, GGT only is elevated. you always have to look at the blood count as a whole, not just the individual values, but as i said, that's what i've learned from my own research. I am not a doctor!
