INGREDIENTS
Maltodextrin
Fructose
Water
Lemon to squeze (or concentrated lemon juice)
Salt(optional)

PROCESS
I Did it with a cycling bottle
PUt 60g maltodextrin
then put 60g of fructose and put some water until desired consistency (not much) then repeat until bottle empty, then put lemon juice in it (i squeezed 2 small lemons and it doesnt taste bad) i also put a bit of salt but idk if it makes sense
Then shake it probably is better warm water lol
Going to update after long ride

Update 2 after long ride, wasnt that bad tbh looks like semen lol but in 5 hours i used like half of it and no gut problems, but was 240g in 5 so not full 120g h (it wasnt necessary btw was all z2) i can put less water probably (or more powder lol) but not in a normal bottle because it hard enough rn
The taste isnt the best ever but even that bad (the best gel ever by taste is probably the sis isotonic tropical , i ate it yesterday and was soo good

You could try xanathan gum to thicken it.
Also, concentrated flavour drops, so you don't use fresh lemon juice.

Yes i probably going to do it (to ahave a consitance like sis) but i should find a better container because the normal bottle have some teouble to let it flow, i have seen gel flasks probably going to buy them
I used fresh lemon juice because i only found lemons at the supermarket
 
When I was doing tough mudders and full marathons
I would make this, if i remember it correctly the ingredients list, been a minute but I am doing a tough mudder in March so I need to dust it off.


Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional, for added omega-3s and texture)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (to replenish electrolytes)
- 1/2 teaspoon of your favorite flavored extract (vanilla, orange, or lemon)
- Water (as needed for consistency)

Instructions:
1. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the applesauce, honey (or agave), chia seeds (if using), salt, and flavored extract. Stir well until combined.

2. Adjust Consistency: If the mixture is too thick for your liking, you can add water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency. The gel should be easily squeezable but not too runny.

3. Taste Test: Adjust sweetness or flavoring according to your preference. You can add more honey or flavored extract if desired.

4. Store: Pour the energy gel into small, resealable bags or squeeze bottles. You can also use a funnel to make this easier.

5. Refrigerate (optional): If you’re not using it right away, store the gel in the refrigerator. It should last about a week.

Tips:
Flavor Variations: You can experiment with different fruit purees or add cocoa powder for a chocolate flavor.

Energy Boost: For a caffeine boost, consider adding some instant coffee or a small amount of matcha powder. I liked the caffeine boost on the longer runs.

Electrolytes: You can enhance the electrolyte content by adding a pinch of potassium chloride or using flavored electrolyte powders. I put potassium so no cramps

Its also interesting this way, probably taste better but what carbs for hour were u taking?
 
Iirc the batch divided into 6 servings of 2 tablespoons each is 15 carbs.
45 mins in I would do 4 servings and every 40 mins therefor after
4 servings is 60 carbs.
For me its a great recipe for z2 rides ecc but if you do i long intervals ecc you need more carbs

Well, if it is only for that, it might be OK, keep those bottles as out of sight as possible, or put some tape around the lid so you know if they have been opened.

Not sure about what "special supps" are.

I suppose writing "please do not open" on the bottle would achieve the opposite result, lol.
But if they know it is supposed to be your DIY concoctions in there, they will not open them, I hope

Yes epo sadly need it, the thing is thatif its hidden under the gel even if they check they are not going to see under it so its not necessary to put tape around it and if in some way are going to know im going to know it looool
They are going to beat me with a rolling pin 99% looool
But they dont suspect anything i dont even drink alchool even if they force it a bit

Yeah, idk how long your rides are but my stuff was around 5hrs I think my mom got up to on our last full, i always just limited myself to what she ran so she wasn’t alone even though I could go way faster.

Yes its not about the really long rides where i think your recipe is gret for bit for harder trainings where you have to go up with the carbs like 100 /hour
