Safinamide – a clean dopamine booster that actually makes sense?

Are we done talking about legal alternatives to Crystal Meth?

I thought this thread is about abusing Parkinson's, Alzheimer and now even deadly weight-loss drugs, so one can juice more Tren?
Started out:
- Want a dopamine booster that I can use long term
- Got a boner seeing neuro-protective but feel that’s exaggerated rn
- Drifted to Phenibut hcl, which does not scream long term health
- Someone Mentioned DNP and I got a boner again

Conclusion: For someone in a deep cut, I appreciate the boners, haven’t gotten a healthy boner in a while.

Interesting. It's like a newer generation rasagiline. I might try swapping it out. Rasagiline has some neuroprotective benefits though.

Here's my current mental health stack which made me realize I had been depressed for a long time (long time on tren too).

Heavy lifting is done by:

1mg Rasagiline
150mg Wellbutrin/Bupropion XL

Others:

800mg Mucuna Pruriens (l-dopa) in the morning
3mg l-tyrosine a few times a day (probably redundant at this point)
5mg methylene blue
200mg 5-htp before bed

I feel alive again on this stack. It's probably mostly wellbutrin.

You've got a lot of dopamine increasing substances in there, how long has that worked well for you? Stuff like that usually stops working at some point.

I found smth while looking at Pharma grade products and stumbled upon Cerebrolysin

Don't have time for researching it rn but chatgpt quick recap said:

Yes — Cerebrolysin is clinically backed.
It’s one of the few peptide therapies that actually has real human clinical studies behind it. It’s used medically in over 50 countries (Europe, Russia, Asia) for stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), vascular dementia, and cognitive decline. It is not FDA-approved in the U.S. but it is approved in Austria and used in hospitals across Eastern Europe and Asia.

✅ Clinical evidence summary

ConditionEvidenceStudy Type
Stroke recovery✅ Strong evidence – improves neurological function & recovery speedMultiple RCTs (randomized controlled trials)
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)✅ Strong evidence – improves cognitive/motor outcomeLarge multicenter trials
Alzheimer’s/Dementia✅ Moderate to strong – slows cognitive declineClinical trials + long-term observational
Neuroprotection✅ Proven increase in BDNF/NGF + reduction in neuroinflammationHuman & animal data
Parkinson’s & Depression (adjunct)⚠️ Emerging evidenceSmall trials

Peer-reviewed study examples

  • INTRASTROKE Trial: Showed improved motor recovery post-stroke
  • CERE-120 Program: Demonstrated neurotrophic effects in TBI patients
  • Alzheimer’s meta-analysis (13 RCTs): Showed significant cognitive improvement
These are real published results, not “underground peptide hype”.

⚙️ Mechanisms proven in research

✅ Increases BDNF and NGF (brain repair factors)
✅ Reduces microglia inflammation
✅ Protects mitochondria in neurons
✅ Promotes synaptogenesis (repair of brain connections)
✅ Prevents apoptosis (cell death from neurotoxicity)

⚠️ What it does NOT have studies for

❌ No clinical studies specifically on “Tren neurotoxicity” (nobody will ever fund that study)
—but the same oxidative + dopaminergic + neuroinflammation damage pathways from Tren ARE studied, so the mechanism still matches.

✅ Clinical Status Summary

CategoryStatus
Real clinical drug✅ Yes
Human studies✅ Yes
FDA approved❌ No
Approved elsewhere✅ Yes (Austria, Russia, Asia)
Long-term safety✅ Good
Works for Tren brain stress?✅ Mechanistically yes

Sound goated, specially interesting how it's used in hospitals in asia clinically for the conditions aforementioned

Sadly UGL sources don't sell it at realistic doses. I think it comes in 60mg vials from UGL generally whilst studied dosages are much much higher (about a gram if i remember right).

I have a source that offers pharma grade used in Asian hospitals, that's how I stumbled upon it. Was wondering why would he sell it

Sounds like homeopathic doses to me. Perhaps there's something in low doses, but i don't believe there's any research of evidence to support it.
yeah thanks for sharing the pdf, put everything into perspective, i don't think low dose is any good tbh.

But the compound looks rly interesting in terms of aiding AAS neurotoxicity, but ofc seems far fetched at these doses.

I think after proper conversions I need like 1g per day. Yeah... Imma stick to testing my Safinamide like Guiney pig I am. Just started 50mg today

Agreed. when they start selling 1000mg vials at a reasonable price, i'll be getting some and jano testing.

how do you feel on Safinamide, I was looking for something for motivation and depression
2nd day on it, I knew going into it that it's very mild. If ur case is severe then it'll probably not do that much.

I had issues with energy/mood/fatigue. Fixing it was done by getting labs and assessing compounds and lifestyle. Thus improved all 3, however running Saf to see if my mood/drive go from meh to pretty good.

I had a checklist that I needed a compound to tick, and this fit the bill but there are more potent ones.

So far pretty mild, I might titrate to 100mg in a few days.
It's mild probably due to it needing more time to work, clinical studies showed like 4 weeks minimum for full effects and it gets better as weeks go by

which source did you use?
and what are some other compounds you wanna try
btw I tried to like your post but the repping option was gone lol
