The difference in your argument is Ukraine wanted NATO alliance because they know Putins end game and that NATO inclusion was their only hope. Canada and Mexico dont want Chinese or Russian defence systems on their soil. So to create a hypotherical scenario woth no basis in actual applicable reality is irrelevant. We could create hypothetical what ifs about anything imagineable, but its irrelevant.
The argument from Putin is they are fighting ukrainian nazis oppressing russian seperatists. I mean wtf. This was putins chance to stop Ukraine from becoming NATO affiliated not because he thinks NATO is threatening Russia but because if Ukraine became NATO his option for controlling Ukraine as a puppet state through military control would become unachievable and this would close a door on his dreams of restoring more of Russias (USSRs) historical boundaries.
IF its really about NATO on russian borders then Russia would be dealing with the confirmed NATO ally countries already on its borders, to which Ukraine is not one of. Furthermore if they annex all of Ukraine as part of Russia they would be creating more NATO allied nations on their newly-redrawn borders (not less). Its yhe fact Ukraine isnt in NATO thats the entire reason Putin is orchestrating this shit. The russian people themselves dont give a shit about this, its Putin and his posse that seek this. I sincerely doubt many Russian people are worried aboit NATO invading Russia unprovoked someday. I doubt Putin is worried about that either, what Putin wants is more of the former soviet union boundaries restored to modern day Russia. It was now or never because if Ukraine became NATO allied that option for Putin would vanish. Im sure the baltic nation NATO allies are very grateful at this moment they are in NATO, because if they were not Russia would be invading their asses too to take back the land Putin and his old school hardliners believe still belongs to them.
Ukrainians and Russians fighting eachother is like Canada and the US fighting eachother. The people themselves have no desire for such a thing, only the powers that be could will it into a reality and that would be without the will of the people themselves supporting them.
It will be interesting to see what becomes of this, but nothing good will come of this that much i know, and sad that the Ukrainian people will have to endure this.
Sadly even after the death of Putin i doubt much will change in Russian leadership, some other hardliner will rise up and continue to tow the line. The Russian people will suffer in the end.

The thing is people are gonna have to realize America is flat busted broke.There's nothing worth fighting for overseas and we're losing our own country to a wave of illegal immigration. What's the point in even giving a shit anymore about anything, there certainly isn't anything to even consider trading your life for because everything you hold near and dear will all be erased in another 50-100 years as far as the United States. If my country asked me to fight, I'd tell them to fuck off, I'm not stupid I've been around for coming up on 50 years, I know this country has been sold out and that process is being sped up at warp speed. So no way would I ever fight for anything over here at all, expect for my own property and to protect my relatives and friends, but for the country....nope.
It wasn't that long ago that we had a totally different view on war that wasn't apart of our borders and even wars that happened in Europe.
You had the early 1900's before WWI where there were many voices totally against us getting into that mess which was about as dumb a war as there ever was.
Then WWII was ramping up and we had "America Firster's" that were considered proto-nazi because they didn't want to go to Europe to kill our brothers and sisters.
It's all propaganda either way. It's best when it comes to war to sit down and do the math and if you are far out matched it will do you no good at all to fight. You put the white flag out and call it a day. 20 million European people killed during WWII, that's just dumb no matter how you look at it.
I'm sure China is gonna invade Taiwan and that was never gonna be prevented anyway. Japan better watch their ass because America isn't gonna die for them either when China comes knocking.
The American Empire is over, we woke up and realized it just isn't worth fighting and dying all over the world for this phony thing called freedom that doesn't exist at all and never existed.....that is unless you consider freedom the right to buy product A or B which is the only real freedom that exists in the United States.
