Roadwarrior diet

I'm on the road constantly for work. This shift I'm jumping across the country for five weeks straight. I am having a really hard time keeping any semblance of a health nutrition regimen with a limited food budget. I'm not restricted to the precontest bodybuilder diet, and just want to cut a little fat (just started cardio for 20-30 min/per day burning about 350-450 calories and am currently at about 215lbs @ 15% BF) while toning up. I've been out of the gym too long and we all know how that spiral is, once you start going down, everything falls apart, diet, motivation, etc. I was really making some progress when I got a new job putting me on the road 5 out of 7 weeks. Any road tested techniques? I was thinking about getting a mini foreman grill, but I don't have access to a car very often so I wouldn't be able to get to the grocery store or anything. Anyone feel my pain? --D--

Canned fish (sardines, mackerel, salmon, tuna), canned chicken or turkey, uncle ben's makes microwaveable brown rice pilaf(various flavors). When I'm on the road, these are my staples.

tuna in those bags, not the can, they are very convient. The big ones have 3.5 servings. around 60 or so grams of protien.

oatmeal! just mix it up with some milk or water. dont have to microwave.

Obvioulsy whey, easy protien.

Protien bars, or drinks. They have some good ones at gnc but expensive.

cans of 50 grams of protein.

Same here, i spend a lot in hotel rooms away from home. I usually carry some protein so i could make my shakes in the hotel. I also go to the local market and buy some cheese and store it in the hotel room.

I get around 50g from cheese, 50g from protein shake, and around 100g-120g from chicken and beef (lunch at customer site if they have a good resturant or try to find a close by resturant that is good), and room service dinner.

Before i go to a city, i lookup the area i'm staying in on the Internet, and try to locate the nearest GNC, nearest resturant, nearest gym (if the hotel doesn't have a decent one).

I don't get enough protein (between 200-220), but at least i'm not shrinking.

The good thing is that my company pays for my breakfast/lunch/dinner, I only pay for the cheese/shakes.

Great ideas oldtimer. Definitely gonna add some variety to the road food. And big bump for finding the gym, GNC, etc...before you get there. That's a classic example of filling your life in around your passion and not vise versa.
