Radial Nerve palsy

I am happy as a clam. I have been suffering from radial nerve palsy in my left arm rendering my left tricept virually useless for a little over a year now and it has healed about 95% over the last three weeks. It was the strangest injury I ever had. First of all I never injured my left arm in any way so the doctor said I must have slept on it funny. Slept on it funny????? This damn shit kept up for over a year and man it sucks, and no indication that it was improving until a few weeks ago. It was like someone flipped a switch and boom my tricept works again. I had nerve cunduction studies done on it which was pretty cool to watch on the computer screen at the doctor's office. But he said I would heal in a few months. My ass!!!! more like over a year. Any one else suffer from radial nerve palsy in the past or currently? It is amazing how many lifts a "closed to paralized" tricept can affect. Obviously chest excersices but also most back lifts too!!

Bro that's great. I'm just getting over a back problem that kept me out of the gym for almost 2 months so I can relate.

Did you go see an ART chiro? Those people are almost miracle workers. Peace.

No I was referred to a neurologist and he did the studies. Pretty cool how it works. They take a wire with a needle on the end and punch it straight into the muscle and says flex. And you can see the wave crests on the computer screen showing how much force your muscles are generating. They did both bicepts, but when they got to the left tricept it was a flat line. He said no prob keep working out and just work around the problem (which is what I did; still a bitch though) it should be back to normal with in a few months. If he had said it would be a year from the get go I wouldn't have worried so much but after nine months passes and there is no sign of improvement I thought I was screwed for life. Thank god.

Most people get radial nerve palsy from breaking an arm, or any trauma that can damage the nerve but mine came out of nowhere. . . . must have been karma that built up to a breaking point. . . .who knows but it sucked dick . . .

That is awesome news to hear bro. I guess your prayers were answered. Only one thing to do now - get in the gym and tear it up.

Yeah no doubt. the left tricept is smooth from atrophy but at least it is able to do work again. I am now more motivated to go to the gym knowing that it will heal properly . . . . .

Anyone else?

Anyone else have anything like this happen to them due to injury to the arm (i.e. breaking) or just out of the blue? I swear this was the strangest thing that ever happened to me. Sucks when you are used to benching 315 for eight reps or so and then one day you walk into the gym and strugle to get 135 up twice with out twisting you torso all the way to the right just ot get the left side up (remember this was an injury to my left tricep) . .. . .

Any way the nerve is closed to 100%. Now I just need to train it well so that is gets back in shape. . . .
