Race to 405 bench?

Oh cool! My best this year was 420. I just got a single ply shirt that I'm playin with. Gonna play that through. Signed up for a meet in june. Idk if itll be raw or geared, we will see
What kind of shirt did you get? Back in the day I used a denim and inzer phenom. Don’t know if guys still use those

For geared lifting, once you figure out how to use them they are a game changer. Everybody is different but I got about a 200lb carry over. Are you going to use boards to break it in?

Yeah, I touched a 2 board already but I got some things to learn yet... bar path and getting a good breath are on my mind mostly

Don’t do what I did. Was working with a 1 board and was struggling to touch. Had the brilliant idea if I rolled my wrists back a little it would help me touch. Needless to say I broke my wrist and about broke my neck when 590 came rolling back

I agree, I always thought leg presses were over rated for strength purposes.
Over or underrated? I see they get a lot of hate, but they’re an amazing secondary movement for strengthening the pull from the floor and getting out of the hole in squats...The carryover isn’t 1:1, but it’s still a good movement to use without putting pressure on the spine.

To me, for strength purposes, I didn’t fell the benefit. I do agree it has its place and you are correct, no pressure on the spine. You ever do them with bands?

I haven’t, but I’ve seen them done and it looks brutal. And yeah, they’re not for everyone. I like them because they don’t beat my CNS up. I can do 5x5’s with 900+ and feel fine after a few minutes, lol.

I'd do leg presses more if there was an attachment to do them really wide stance.
That’s definitely a drawback on most machines. I’ve seen modifications...I believe Brian Shaw has one, but they’re obviously one-off customs.
