Quest E2 delays

I’m in the same area as where these get sent and I just got my sensitive E2 results that were taken 9/11
lol i'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but this also torpedo's my idea about the shipping. Their backlog was building for weeks. Once again this is the downside of having the duopoly in this space. No incentive to change anything for the better. Just cut costs and raise prices.

I think they did make improvements, not on testing speed but on how to better store the samples so they can be usable longer lol. I use LC, they seem to have a shorter "life" for the sensitive e2 sample. My hope is that it forces them to get the results out earlier before the samples aren't usable but who knows..

As much as it irks us it's still a fairly niche test. I asked a friend of mine who's a doctor and he said there's really no need to order this test other than for fertility / female hormone treatments, which is a low volume thing for labs. If I'm the CEO of either of of these companies I'd be very in tune to the growing TAM of patient ordered bloodwork, obviously amongst those using PEDs wanting the U/S E2. I have no idea how much the machine costs but I'm sure they could get a very nice ROI if they were to expand their capacity,.

They're freezing the samples immediately now.

just spoke with a human from Quest and they said the anticipated date of resolution (handwaving language, i love it) is october 15, samples being processed on FIFO basis.

Glad I waited 15 mins on hold for that info...

For shits and giggles, I sent Quest an inquiry on the E2 ultrasensitive test delays and got a canned response about some tests taking longer and once they are complete, they are sent for review blah blah...

Didn't expect anything really, but one more person concerned about the delays might help make them more aware and/or concerned. Doubt it, but figured it couldn't hurt.
