Planet fitness is a zoo and like half the people there aren’t even there to work out, not sure what they are doing; they meander and loiter
I have a home gym, thank god, so I mostly get to avoid commercial gyms except when traveling.

But, I will say Planet Fitness has one thing to it over a lot of the other "more serious" gyms I've hit up while traveling for work: A hell of a lot less "influencers" setting up tripods everywhere.

The people that are there for their slice of pizza don't want to advertise that they're only going to the gym to eat shitty food.

What’s your home gym set up? Once I’m more established that’s my goal. A nice home gym. Maybe garage.

Me too, I’ll never live anyplace i can’t have one now. About the only thing i don’t have that i wouldn’t mind would be something else for cardio besides the recumbent bike i have but I do have a mat room adjacent to the gym where me and my family train jiu jitsu, judo and Muay Thai so i can get plenty of cardio hitting a bag of i need to

The downsides with them is that there are no free weights and the crowds can get shitty

I visited one and they had dumbbells, but they only went up to 70lbs or so. Just do more reps.

It seemed like an OK gym. Their advertised culture which seems anti-BB is kind of annoying IMO. i.e. That BB people are intimidating when that's just BS projection.

My vision has definitely changed.
Background: Taking tirz for about 6 months. Initially from Henry Meds (compounding Rx) then over to QSC. Down 30lbs, 230-200lbs so far. Never diabetic. No high BP issues ever or other conditions that might mess up my vision.
Had to go out and get a new eyeglass Rx last week.
Told doc about weight loss/tirz, and he said "yeah, that's probably why. we're seeing vision changes with people on GLPs"
He attributed it to "less inflammation and less physical pressure on the eyes."
Guess we'll see if this is a problem or not down the road. Maybe just fat people getting unfat vs some new side effect of the drugs. I'll let you guys know if I go blind.

Did you need a stronger or weaker prescription? i.e. Did the Tirz make your vision better or worse?

Yeah lmao I guess planet fitness for the price isn’t all terrible but definitely has its downsides.

Also sorry by free weights I meant like a free barbell and plates. True, atleast they have dumbbells I suppose

This is my little setup that works well for me, has smith and free weight bench, cables etc, plus some other weights, bars and dumbbells, still planning to get some more but this does the job for now.
Those dip bar attachments are pretty sweet, did they come with or did you buy separate? If so got a link

It comes with the dip bar attachments and some other attachments, it's the Marcy SM-4033. Has landmine and low row cable and everything, pretty solid machine.

The last 7…years? Or did you spell days wrong?
Years. My boyfriend used to work there so it probably scares me more than it should. They also had to close a bank down the road after the third time it got robbed, and I've had two murders within a three block radius since I moved into my apartment three years ago. It's not like, NYC bad, but it's not great. And the location of the gym is just right near a particularly bad area. I used to get tipped in herb at work and had a customer who had toads that made you trip if you licked them. Abundant fentanyl overdoses. Etc.

Ended up going with planet fitness. I pass one on the way to and from work and I got the membership that will let me go to any of them. There's a second one about 15 min from my place right by my friends place.

Man, sometimes I just forget how the rest of the country lives. I’d move to Florida in a heartbeat if my parents weren’t here. Work on the water and drink mai tais every night. Instead I’m just stuck in this stupid town, texting my mom every other night to tell her not to go outside because they just released the fur missiles again. I’m only thankful the K-9 unit hasn’t been defunded yet, because it was touch and go there for a while.

Pretty much same, except I hate the weather. But I can only handle my family in small doses and they all retired there. But damn is the rent tempting.

I'm basically in the bad (read: cheap) area of a very nice location. I work in one of the richest areas in the country.
