It bothers me when people do that for some reason. I'm like no how many mg per week ate you on, then there are like oh per week that's 3mls total of test ...... yada yada... how does that makes since that people don't even know the concentration of there gear....just something I pick up on sometimes ..

Mike Israetel changes his opinion all the time on training frequency/volume/intensity based on the most recent study and say that's what he's been saying all along.

I think Lyle McDonald hates Mike personally so it's definitely biased, but he has a few good criticisms. Made a youtube video.

I also think Lyle provides good training information so maybe I'm biased too.

I still watch Israetel's videos all the time.

I think the sheer number of videos that Mike has put on saying "I was wrong about thing X" says otherwise about him claiming he'd been saying that all along.

But I think he's much more of an entertainer than an educator. Some of the stuff he puts out is really good, some not great, and every now and then he's on some really weird/wrong shit, like an anavar-only first cycle.

He's at a bit of a weird cross-section of being big on on youtube that a lot of his content is more normie focused and a lot of that is pretty good. The science stuff is usually a fairly accurate representation of what the studies say, but it probably won't do much to counter the criticism of the people who think the evidence based lifting crowd are a bunch of wimps. He also ranges far afield from areas where his subject matter expertise is, but he'll still act like he's an expert on it.

I think a lot of Lyle's video gets really into weird personal attacks, etc., and that makes it a bit hard to really separate out what is valid and what isn't. Lyle's hard on for the evidence based crowd also grew three times in size after Milo Wolf took his money in a bet.

I grew up on the border in northern ny and instead of seeing police patrol the streets it was all border patrol. You were routinely stopped by b.p for any and everything but mainly suspicion of drugs. I remember one time my dad parked the boat dead center in the middle of the river and dared us to swim to canada while he sat and drank on the boat. Eventually he had to come pick us up not even 20 minutes into it. A 5 minute drive by car equals around a 9 hour swim.

Eventually he had to come pick us up not even 20 minutes into it. A 5 minute drive by car equals around a 9 hour swim.

I was convinced I could swim a mile as a workout when I was a teenager. I got maybe 25 yards in before giving up. It took me 5 minutes to go that 25 yards because I kept sinking. To this day, I can’t float or tread water and I swim every week with a swim coach. If I stop swimming, I sink a few feet below the surface, and as air leaves my lungs, I go straight to the bottom. So I am in awe of anybody who can swim across the border, especially if they’re going against the current. That shit is HARD.
