Protein powders that aren't spiked

Not sure to what extent your intolerance is but this is soy free and lactose free. It took some time to find one that was both.

Why are you concerned about soy?

Is there really any issue with soy and flax seeds etc that have plant estrogen like substances? Does this really turn into something that significantly impacts our endocrine system? Especially those of us on exogenous test.

@ChestRockwell

This is a lengthy, but extremely informative albeit ultimately indecisive piece, well worth reading :

Yes and I saved the info on that powder you showed. That is a hard combination to find.

My problem is milk protien. Not so much lactose. I have tried several whey and whey isolates and by day three my ass hole feels like the surface of the sun.

I am not upset as I found egg white protien is just as effective with proper digestive enzyme intake. It’s about the same price as the expensive tubs with the enzyme even though egg white powder is cheaper than whey iso.

Soy gives me explosive gas and I have not found the enzyme that will stop it. Soy is great otherwise. The issue with large soy intake while going natty is the estrogen. Some feel large amounts of soy can raise your estrogen levels. I have seen data from both sides and don’t know if this is broscience or not.

@tenpoundself- good article.

I’ve read the same about soy. But your right this product is a milk-based

Soy gives me mud butt. That’s the main reason. Some have shown that’s it’s not the best for men but I don’t put much in that, I’d say you’re getting more in BPH in plastic drinking bottles

I'm really skeptical about plant estrogen getting into our bodies in a way that is noticeable. Korean and Japanese males would have at least A cups by now.

And if you're not natty, then there's even less chance.

I rank this at the fretting over deodorants and lotions level.

I'll stand behind nutrabio protein any day.

PeSelect protein is another great one that is third party tested.

Both of these have very little "extra" as far as ingredients go, both close to being the highest concentration of complete protein you can get per scoop.

I'm also partial to blends of whey isolate and micellar casein, for multiple reasons.

Isn't there a male infertility epidemic currently amongst the Japanese population? I may be wrong, in which case feel free to tell me I'm a blathering idiot

Male infertility is something that all countries are experiencing. Thus the everyman reach for various "solutions" such as eliminating whatever they think is causing this. Separate issue.

My point is that the Asians have eaten this stuff for a long time. Some say they are genetically adapted to eat this.

Asian average height is 5’ 4” (rural China) and the men have a almost female body type. Yes Asians have eaten this stuff for a long time....

Come on, the Pinoy eat loads of meat, no soy - and they're the shortest on the planet.

Contrary to popular belief, not all Asian countries are as nuts about soy products as the Japanese and Koreans.

It only fools Kjeldahl.

This is actually one thing that amino acid analysis is good for.

But... are creatine and taurine not more expensive than regular protein?

...melamine is used for that and it had been a pretty big thing before more modern methods than kjendahl were used.... using amino acids for spiking makes little sense to me economically... just spike with melamine or random cheap plant isolate

Correct it would fool kjeldahl testing. My experience I generally have seen taurine and glycine used (and a lot of it) but creatine would do the same, generally a 200% protein reading. What companies were doing was replacing most 80% whey conc. With 34% concentrate and blending a batch with a taurine/glycine mix. Super cheap and doesn’t have much of an impact on taste.

Generally if you see aminos listed. Don’t buy it

Thank you for educated insight!

I wasn't sure about the prices of solo aminos, not really a market I'm well versed in.

Bumping this up...
I've never found a protein powder that doesn't give me mud ass. I'm lactose intolerant. And maybe I'm just uneducated, but I'm tired of spending hundreds on different jugs of protein only to give it away after a few days. I just rely on real food. Lots of chicken and eggs. It's a pain and honestly I'd LOVE to find something just as a convenient replacement when life is life.

I've not tried the egg protein yet... With the true nutrition egg protein should I add in the digestive enzymes?

I'm adding something to my shakes that has really firmed it up for me. Give it a try.

The true nutrition shit someone recommended tastes great. Good price.. But makes my stomach turn like a mother fucker. I'm giving it a few weeks before I call it bunk for me though. Just to see if my stomach gets used to it.

Whey protein or egg?
