Political threads - Rules & Clarification

There is no ban on political threads or political speech.

I believe we should be supportive of free speech on the board, for the most part. But at the same time, I don't think members right to free speech is absolute.
  • Slanderous or libelous postings are not permitted.
  • Postings that restrict an environment of free speech (i.e. Flaming!) are not permitted
  • Any blatant disrespect for the rules set forth by the admin and moderators or any personal attack thereof are not permitted.
I have no problem banning any members that repeatedly violate the above. And frankly, if anyone personally attacks a mod or admin even once, that is sufficient reason for a ban.

Keep in mind that these restrictions have nothing to do with political viewpoints expressed by the members.

The fact that we may ban certain members who may happen to have self-defined conservative or liberal political viewpoints is and will not be the reason we ban them.

Please recognize that our moderators' political viewpoints are varied; and disagreement with moderators' beliefs or opinions are permitted as long as you respectfully acknowledge moderators' right to such beliefs or opinions. For that matter, this is the standard which you should treat all your fellow board members on MESO-Rx.

Political threads are clearly permitted.

We recognize that several individuals may be sick and tired of political discussion especially in the midst in a highly polarized national presidential election. Thus, at the suggestion of one of our moderators, we reserve the right to create a forum in the near future specifically for political discussion and move relevant threads to this section.

No wonder some of you mods support Kerry. This board has been a Kerry flip flop in action from at one point allowing political threads, to deleting personal threads, to now accepting these threads once again. I guess that's just one more reason why Repubilcans have more class then Democrats.
One more time: political debate is allowed; personal attacks/insults (especially directed at the mods/admin) is not allowed.

Some people are unable to understand the difference between political debate and personal attacks/insults.

I hope you're not one of them.

I think this is great that you brought this out in the open and I would hope that it would apply to the mods as well as the members...I cant tell you how many times I've seen the blowtorch come from the other end in one of these political threads only to have the member respond in kind an thus banned.

Hi KTCSsports.

Did you eve realize how pathetic you are? You got banned from here, then had Quasi tried to orchestrate a campaign to reinstate you, which fell flat since no one here likes you. In fact, there were many posts congratulating the mods on kicking your ass out of here, since you all you did with your posts was suck energy out of the board.

Now you're back, looking in from the outside like a school child who's been suspended and returns each morning to the schoolyard to press his face against the chain link fence, watching all the other kids have fun at recess.

I don't think you got the message yet, so here it is. No one wants you here so go away. There's no point in hanging around. You're like a fart in an elevator that hangs in the air long after the farter got off at his floor.
