I'm shooting for 585x8 next week. That will be my last heavy lift for reps. If I hit that I'll feel pretty confident in 300+ kg.

Just taking a year off heavy deads apparently made my grip go to shit. So I've been doing barbell holds, but I still haven't lifted over 600 without straps since 2018. Ha
 
I do think sumo is more skewed towards reps though. Like if you can get it off the floor you can usually hit it for reps, but once it's heavy beyond a certain point you'll get possible form breakdown that causes a miss.

Yeah, that's why I'm going to overshoot it to 585x8. On a calculator it looks like it would be a 720+ dead, but I'm guessing it'll really be around 660-680.
 
Weight today was 198.8

Workout was,

X1 bench @ 345lbs
3x3 bench @ 305lbs
50 pullups
3x8 tbar rows
3x12 reverse flies
5x8 skull crushers
4xamrap SS cable and band pushdowns

Well, 345 didn't quite move as easy as I wanted. Probably had 365 for a grinder in me. I did feel a bit off this morning though. Might be from the covid I got the other day, not sure.

2x1 squat @ 455lbs
X8 squat @ 455lbs *PR
4x7 pin press @ 255


Squats were a bit sloppy, but luckily the strength was more than there. I think having covid is just throwing me off a bit. I don't feel bad, but my focus and energy just isn't there. If it's just the covid, then hopefully I'll be back to 100% before the end of this week.

2x3 squats @ 435lbs
4x5 strict curl
4xamrap SS cable hammer and band curls

Training until the meet will basically be Sq/B 3x/week, Dl once, a little rowing, and some arms EVERYDAY. Ha. Jk.

But not really.

3x3 deadlift @ 545lbs
3x5 spoto press @ 300lbs
4x15 neutral grip pullups

Didn't really feel good today. Then had my buddy talk me into doing some dabs with him and going into the city to hit the gym. Ended up loading up 7 plates and hit it pretty decent for being pretty stoned and down 3lbs from yesterday.
