Path to a 500 wilks

I plan on hopefully putting up about 1,600lbs in 9 weeks at a meet. Anywhere from a 565-585 squat, 365-385 bench, and a 635 deadlift.
Thats an International total at 181. Even at 198 thats an elite total. What Federation are you going to compete in?

This meet would be uspa. I didn't want to compete again until April-May when I had more time to get my total up. But I figure unless John haack shows up I'll probably win even where I'm at anyways. Lol. Which if he does show up, which he probably will, no amount of training would help me win anyways. Ha.

Do you really believe that genetic in powrrlifting will take that far? What do you consoder as genetic when it comes to this sport?

Yes, I think it plays a huge role. Personally I think almost any average sized and healthy man can squat 405lbs, bench 315lbs, and deadlift 495lbs with enough training. I don't believe everyone is capable of squatting 495lbs, benching 405lbs, and pulling 585lbs with any amount of training. I think very few can ever squat 585lbs, bench 495lbs, and pull 675lbs with any amount of training and gear.

It takes top tier genetics to reach those crazy levels of strength. Leverages, muscle and bone density, tendon strength, resistance to injuries, etc. We're not all built for that no matter how hard we work and how much gear we run.

Great post perrin. Haha that s crazy when you see some asians (built like a broomstick) capable of doing that :( even strongman, they are so tall ( huge torso and freaking long femur) capable of squstting 400kg for reps (881lbs). Accord8ng to your statement perrin, all top tier powerlifter use some kind of drugs right? Some of them are tested regularly, how do they bypass the tests?
HGH AND SOME HUGE AMOUNT OF TRAINING will increase bone density so basically that will help?

Again much u respect for you guys (perrin, worf, bran) pulling some huuuge numbers

The thing about all using drugs I couldn't give a real answer. Even without drugs it's safe to say they'd still be far beyond anything any of us are capable of with any amount of drugs.

Yeah exactly!! Blaine sumner is regularly tested and he has a total of 1002 kg raw and 1272 single ply!! Crazyyy lol

Weight today was 189.0

Workout was,

1x3 squats @ 455lbs
3x3 squats @ 405lbs
4x8 paused bench @ 235lbs
4x12 pullups
4x12 seated cable rows
4x15 reverse flies

Squats are still moving decent. Probably should be working in wraps again now that my hip and back are fine. Will probably start wraps again next week with 515x3
