Palifter’s competition log

You have really good symmetry and proportions.
Have you entered a competition or are you planning on doing so?
I saw a picture of Rafa Brandao's back, a few days ago, and yours reminds me of his.
I’ll take that comparison! Love his physique.

I am still mapping out a plan for next year. I will likely do 2 shows. The first to qualify for a national show then a national show to hopefully get a pro card.

Hello Meso!

Figured I’d pop in to give an update. Recently got over the flu followed by Covid. Finally back to good health and able to train and eat accordingly. I will attach a pic from yesterdays check in with my coach. Fasted weight ~290lbs.

No show plans this year due to life events but 2026 is looking good.

looking good. What is your current training volume looking like? rep and set ranges. Also for us tall guys, what do you have better results from for chest. Its a lagging part on me and trying to bring it up. Seems only shoulders want to grow.

Right now I follow a bro split with slight modifications. I hit legs twice a week (a ham focused day along with a quad focused day). My workouts usually consist of 5-6 movements. 3-4 working sets for all, rep range of 8-12. I train to failure for the most part.

For chest, I too struggle in the area and my delts like to take over. I’ve found starting chest day with a fly movement can help prime the intended muscle and get some blood in there for heavier pressing movements. I’ve also found myself connecting better with machines vs free weights. Lastly, you might want to consider throwing in a single chest movement on say a back day. This is just in an effort to increase total volume for chest in a given week.

to get to and maintain 290lbs do you have to eat a lot? what is your diet structured in broad terms

I guess it depends since that’s very relative to the person you’re asking. To the norm, I’m sure it’s a lot, to me I’m always hungry lol. The below values tend to scale up week to week. This week:

Training day macros P-360g C-640g F-20g

Rest day macros P-360g C-200g F-80g

High day P-300g C-940g F-0g

I train 5 days per week for reference

Fasted weight 295lbs

No changes to diet since last check in. We did back cardio down to 30min 5x a week.

Also added in Trest @ 25mg EOD. Still using test + EQ. This is my first time using trest but too soon to tell how it’s working.

I also met with a fertility doc recently and did a full semen analysis and bloodwork. To our surprise, my sperm count came back above normal range and I’m fertile.

looking Hugggge!!

When on exogenous hormones like test, dietary fat intake can be lower without any negative repercussions. Also, since I am using insulin frequently, we want to keep fat intake at a minimum and put an emphasis on pushing carbs hard periworkout.

In all honesty, there isn’t much of a difference - on paper or in real world results. I’ve ran HGH protocols every which way and always got the same benefits/results. This is just what my coach has me doing so I’ll adhere to that protocol. The most important thing with HGH is to be consistent with your dosing.

I do, my intra shake currently is 30g karbolyn, 15g EAAs and 5g creatine with a pinch of Himalayan pink salt.

My peri workout protocol is below:

Why humalog with pre meal instead of with the intra?

You’re quoting a prior protocol with a coach I have since parted ways with.

I currently use Humalog with my pre meal (70-90min pre workout) and with my post meal. This covers the largest and most beneficial peri workout window imo.

Yea I gitcha. I’ve recently started using humalog with intra and was wondering if you liked using it with the pre meal but you answered my questions!
