Backfilling an insulin syringe with oil is the easiest thing to do, not sure why some of you are having a problem with it…

Pull out plunger, put it inside the cap you pulled off the back to keep it sterile, load the oil in back of syringe, insert the plunger back in only a little to plug the syringe so oil doesn’t leak out, let all oil drop back down to black part of the plunger, push in plunger till you hear a small click that plunger is in the syringe now, give it a few seconds and push plunger in till oil drips down needle once to lube needle … inject !!

In general

I do find the deeper in my glutes reduces pip from compounds that might cause me issues. But that doesn’t work in other muscles (quads for example). I use a 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inch needle.

Do you find it lingers longer when it’s deeper? I found it does for me. I can’t speak for sub q as peptides are the extent of my sub q. But shallow muscular it typically goes away pretty quick.

For me it’s the opposite. Deeper I really don’t feel much of anything. Shallow I feel the pip sometimes for a couple of days. But again, this only works in the glutes. I tried deeper in the quads and pip was similar to pinning shallow.

Funny how we all respond differently. I know for lat injections anything I know that has pip I avoid. Had some heavy pip Test P once and it straight cramped my lat up something terrible.

Like many of you, I'm doing my best to prepare for future scarcity, and have stocked up on oils from a few quality domestic sources in order to prepare for the times ahead. I've bought most everything in MCT due to it being fully saturated and thus less likely to oxidize. I store everything upright in a temperature controlled environment, totally protected from all light. One unfortunate issue I faced was that one of the best sources here is very generous in how he fills his vials, and this means that even when stored perfectly vertical, the oil makes contact with the stopper. Over time...

It depends on what you're backfilling into.
Backfilling something thick into a 30 or 31g is kinda tough. The oil or liquid doesn't flow back down when you flip the syringe over.

The deadspace in needles was messing me up when I first started measuring out my daily doses.

My dose is low, so at 300mg/week im pinning 14units/day. With accounting for the dead space I was prob closer to 20 units.

Now I empty the canula space into the syringe tube (leaving the needle empty) and measure my dose out that way in the barrel. Add my air bubble, flip pin around use that to push out most of the oil in the needle. After pin, I can squeeze the plunger hard af with both hands and can barely get one drop of oil out of it.

I use 1ml luer-locks similar to the ones that ya linked before. Just a different brand but same deisgn

From my reading you could inject over 1cc for a larger individual and be fine, but I personally wouldn’t do it. As long as it’s not intravenous of course lol. Air is relatively safe. I agree thought it makes me uneasy.

From what I've read, the air lock technique specifies up to 0.5cc of air, so I wouldn't have apprehension going up to that amount. I split my injections up into daily administrations, so that can help keep oil volume down, depending on compounds and doses. One of the reasons I prefer Mast E, and other higher concentration options, is simply the smaller oil volume

I draw 0.12ml of air (the amount of dead space my particular needle+syringe combo holds) and just push until I hear the air follow the oil out of the needle. Makes a little wet fart sound. Whatever’s left in the barrel at that point stays.

Air in IM and SubQ injections is negligible as long as it’s not a retarded amount. In emergency treatment we try to limit IV air bubbles to 0.5ml or less. I’ve read it takes 1-2ml or above to cause an embolism, but it’s not specified in our protocol. Unless you’re pushing large volumes of air AND accidentally hitting a vessel, you should be fine, imo.

Has anyone gotten more pip by going deeper? I bought some 25g 1.5inch nipros to test out, which I plan to use to inject into my DG (will have to figure out how to bend my body) but I don't think I've ever gone so deep before.

Man, I’ve never had a problem going deep. My girl sure doesn’t complain, and neither do my thighs. I use 27g 1.5” all the time and they take it like pros. No pain, no pip, just pure efficiency. If you’re getting more pip from going deeper, maybe it’s not the needle’s fault, maybe your glutes just aren’t emotionally ready for that kind of intimacy.

@maddie thank yoj so much I was rushing hauling some ass on the highway. Thank to everyone all X-Rays were okay nothing broke some dam guy ran a red light thankfully it was the front clip not her door. Needless to say her car appears totaled. Doesn’t matter to me as long as she is okay.

Shortly I’ll get back to the shop since all X-Rays checked out. Just waiting for them to remove IV and discharge her
