New to the world of PEDs

Good morning everyone. I’m all new to the world of PEDs and have been consuming as much information as possible.

I am a 39 year old guy who has spent my entire life 70ish lbs overweight and had knee issues to go along with it. Last year my wife decided it was time for us to make a change and we dove into the whole30 diet. I was hesitant at first but embraced the process and it was life changing. After cleaning up my diet I drastically reduced inflammation and had the energy and ability to get into the gym 4-6 times a week starting in November. I have now dropped from 225lbs to 175 and am seeing some definition in my arms and legs.

Medically speaking, I was diagnosed with low T when I was 35 and had all of the low energy/motivation symptoms. My levels were 300 and I was prescribed the standard 100 mg of test C. I went about my business for years with my levels hovering in the 500-600 range and I felt great, or so I thought.

This spring after 6 months in the gym and losing weight I had a checkup and my levels were 900ish on the same dose when I was 185lbs. That is when the bug bit me….. I felt SO much better at this level and motivation shot through the roof.

Long read but where am I today?
-lost 50lbs in 12 months.
-used 5mg of tire for the last few months (last 15lbs)
-prescribed 100mg test c
-gym 4-6 times a week
-hover around 1500 calories with protein always over 150 (all tracked)

About a month ago I decided I wanted to up my test dose. I upped it to 200mg (tues/fri pins) and cruised there for 4 weeks and now added a 3rd pin to go to 300mg. I am seeing some mild water retention so I take 12.5mg araomasin 1-2 times a week as needed and I feel great. I decided to order some mast P as well and will be adding that in the next 2 weeks at 100mg then potentially 200mg if needed. I am also switching to Reta so that will start next week as well.

Sorry for the long post but that is what intros are supposed to be right?

Welcome!

Congrats on that weight loss. An incredible accomplishment.

A few thoughts…

Given that you held onto that extra body fat for so long I think it’s likely that you will continue to aromatize at a high rate. That means you need to be gentle with the test dosages and monitor E2 closely. I think you’ve shown yourself what reduce fat mass can do to free test.

Before doing anything with your test dosage, you need to address your diet. 1500 calories is obscenely low. You should spend some time reversing out of that (leaving test dosage the same) to try to get to a point where you are maintaining weight closer to 2600-2800 calories (or as high as you can go). Operating on 1500 cals is just slowing your metabolism down.

Also, do you have any recent bloodwork? Namely hematocrit, lipids, etc. Need to know that before making any changes to test. But as I said I’d spend some months reverse dieting out of starvation mode. Save the masteron for later (much later). Reta should allow you to eat more compared to tirz without adding fat.

Thank you for the advice. My blood work has held solid for years with the following:

Hemoglobin: 17-18 (I donate once a year due to the slow rise)
Hemocrit: most recent 55 before donation
Hdl: holds solid in the upper 40s for years
Triglycerides: holds solid in the mid 40s for years

I have bloodwork coming up in a month but felt confident with my levels staying consistent at the 100mg TRT dose. I will hold off on the mast.

Also, I am working on climbing out of the calorie deficit and swapping over to more of a recomp. I am still carrying some BF in my chest and stomach but it is drastically reduced. The switch to Reta was planned to try to up calories and still keep going after BF.

I’m a broken record but I’d also suggest (strongly) a sleep study (can be done at home easily with equipment they’ll send you). I’d be surprised if you don’t have sleep apnea. If you do, get that treated. Those H/H numbers are high for what you’re taking and will only go higher with more test. Treating sleep apnea (if you have it) will improve the HCt over time.

And this...

Some just aren't destined for high Test doses without serious Hct elevation.

It’s a long journey of trial and error with harm reduction at the forefront. We all start with test and can get discouraged by initial blood values but remember that we all react to things differently. I’ve recently added primo to my regimen and my HcT actually decreased. I did reduce test from 300 to 235 but my total androgen load for the week increased 70%. If and when you get to the point you add masteron, start low and go slow. Theres a joke about masteron not being an anabolic steroid because it doesn’t increase hct. But there is a dude in this board for whom it sent his hct sky high. Unusual but possible.
