New here

Hi,

Thought I'd immediately do the right thing and introduce myself here before posting questions.
I am a male, 46 yrs old and have several years of recreational training under my belt. As looking at my age may imply I have experience with lifting and PEDS's, I want to clarify, that I am experienced. But not an certified expert on any of it. Most of my experience comes from experimentation in the gym and reading online.

I started as a teen with fitness and weight loss, got lean but with an average looking physique due to a lack of muscle mass.
In my twenties I ventured into Powerbuilding, simply because I loved both setting PR's on heavy lifts but also wanted to look good physically. I was physically strongest during this time, but as happens with many I became injured (lower back) and progress was halted. It took a long time before I was fully recovered, and until this day I am afraid to lift heavy again on the squat and deadlift. For the past few years I have been sticking to a bodybuilding hybrid program where I incorporate other sports such as running, sprinting, boxing. I rotate the sports every once in a while, just to keep it from going stale.

On this board I will probably be reading more than posting, but I'll try to add value whenever I can. If you guys have more questions, feel free to DM!

Welcome sir. I've had the same issue with powerbuilding. Feels great to lift heavy but resulted in the majority of injuries I've had in the gym. Now I lift as light as possible for maximum hypertrophy to avoid injury. Really slowing down the reps and focusing on mind/muscle connection.
