Fuck appliances! Just fuck all modern day appliances! This refrigerator is only 2 years old and it’s an everloving piece of shit! Samsung can blow me! Fuck their appliances, fuck their service plans, and fuck their customer service!!!

If the temperature isn’t all over the place it’s the water that builds up underneath the trays and leaks out of the damn thing onto the floor, which is probably ruined over this POS!!

2 years ago I thought I was getting my dream fridge, French doors and gigantic pull out freezer, surely it would be perfect for my groceries! Nope, motherfucking hunk of shit! I have had nothing but problems, every month I’m doing something to fuck with a fridge. It’s about to get loaded on my trailer and brought to the gun range. I have the worst luck with appliances out of anyone I know, I’ve been in this house right at 15 years now and I shit you not I’ve been through about 4 refrigerators!! You know a good brand of appliance? NOTHING, there’s nothing out there now that isn’t a pain in the ass! A fridge I can control from my cell phone you ask? Shiiiiit, you’re out of your goddamn mind!! I’m abt to go find a retro fridge from the 1950’s at this point!!!

Hate to hear this. I've talked to multiple people in last 6 months who talked poorly of Samsung appliances, advising against buying one. I ended up buying whirlpool refrigerator and washer/dryer recently. $2,600 worth, sure hope they last.

Yep ...when the Samsung dryer computer board goes out you can't even get a new one because of covid. So it's on indefinite back order and you just got to put the $600 piece of s*** by the curb. Don't ever get an LG refrigerator either because the compressors go out and they are on recall with no replacement.

Samsung fridges are notorious for being really shitty. Especially the ice/water dispenser part.

A few tips for your next purchase:

1. Do NOT get a fridge with a water/ice maker.
2. DO NOT get a Samsung.

I love my Whirlpool fridge with no water hookup. This thing should last forever I think. Sometimes it is a little loud, but oh well. French doors with the pull out freezer (make sure the freezer has a shelf) are nice and I believe more energy efficient, too. The shelf prevents a lot of the cold air from escaping as fast. Since cold air falls when you behave that big tall door on a side by side there is more surface area contact to the warm air of your house, making it lose more cold air faster.

For water I use a carbon block under sink filter with a dedicated spout. It's super nice. From Epic Water Filters. Then for ice, we just don't really use ice. I don't care the cold water is cold enough for me. We do have a few ice trays for guests and to put in our chickens water on super hot days tho.

Samsung is really hit or miss, and it shouldn't be that way. They have attractive products but they usually don't live up to the hype. I've had some terrible experiences. I still kept on buying them because at the time, they usually had the best product out of the brands available.

Samsung make the best flash memory, SD cards, SSD hard drives though. That's where they shine.

The best appliances are the old ones. Old refrigerators never die. Old microwaves, old AC units. In fact, all of the old stuff is better.


Overall, the quality of most things has gone down. When I was younger, they never released products with known defects or bugs. Nowadays, everyone sends out half assed unfinished products that don't deliver. It's sad.

I gotta say Whirlpool is legit. I do really like my Samsung dishwasher though. I have all Whirlpool except the dishwasher (just happened by luck). Nothing else has dried dishes as good as that one does. I do have GE washer and Drier and those are good. I got it for the microban ring on the side loader. Really nice not to have mold growing in the stupid ring. My old ones got gross.

Not an appliance rant but I just paid my electric bill for July 15 to Aug 15...it was double what I paid last year and I used only 20 kwh more...we are being screwed by the big companies...hell BP just had their biggest quarterly profit in history, over 18 billion in the last quarter...a new basic truck costs $60k...they have to be colluding with one another...fuck em all...the entire country should go on strike...no one buy anything or go anywhere...shut the entire system down!...

I feel your pain. Samsung fridge I had leaked constantly from the water filter. Tried different filters, made sure they were put in correctly. Still leaked. Never stopped until we sold it. Same with Samsung washer and dryer. Heating element kept going out on the dryer and the front load washer is poorly designed. They use a cast iron spider arm behind the drum which is basically three arms that attach to the drum and are what turns it. Cast iron degrades relatively quickly and when it breaks you have to completely disassemble the machine to replace it. That's if you can find the part. Never again.

Use an ice box. Australian eski. New zealand chilly bin. Nothing can go wrong as long as you dont mind picking up ice every other day.
We also have been in this house 15 years. Same fridge all that time. We also despise it but the fucker wont die. Life is too short. Let it go. Ours is kelvinator. Reliable but shelves break when you load them up with chicken rice and veg.
