My Testosterone level - Low?

8th October 2002:
Testosterone: 6.3 nmol/l (181 ng/dl)
LH : 9.2 iu/l
FSH : 5.0 iu/l
SHBG : 18 nmol/l (518 ng/dl)
HCG : <5 iu/l

21th October 2003(Year after...):
Testosterone: 13.9 nmol/l (400 ng/dl)
HCG : <1 iu/l

Im 26 year old. Both testosterone values are low, especially the one from 2002. Have not really noticed lowered libido, except possibly few nocturnal erections.

Why is it that the values have fluctuated to such a big degree from the first measurement to the second? Is that normal? Btw, have never taken any steroid products.

It is said that testosterone measurements are best to take in the morning when they are at it highest. To take the tests however, I have to drive for 2.5 hours to the hospital. Think that would make much, if any difference in the measurements?

T levels will fluctuate duirng the day and across the week. Are you saying you had your blood drawn at different times of the day?

BTW, how did you know you had nocturnal erections?

Blood tests were taken about 3 hours after waking up on both occations. Nocturnal erections happens during REM sleep. So if you wake up from a dream in the morning, its a good chance you should have a good erection. With low testosterone levels they might be less frequent and with less rigidity.

Actually, I do not place much weight on morning erections. It's just a question we always ask and can then write down an answer.
