My endo says the HPTA always bounces back to normal

He said that the HPTA is very robust and always bounces back after steroid use, just can take a long time, many months. I said I had read of guys who used steroids extensively for years at a time for many years, that were permamently affected. He said that while there will be some individuality, 99% of people bounce back to where they were. Is this accurate?

Good question. But I would seriously question anyone stating such a broad claim. My understanding is that you can desynthitize the hypothalimus. Perhaps SWALE could educate us. But my reading on Clomid actually described this as a side-effect of long-term clomid use. Not really sure though. I would think that heavy abuse of your axis may prevent restoration or at the least increase the ability to become desynthitized. Especially if you do not manage your post-cycle requirements.

Well, I have several TRT patients who were still hypogonadal a couple of years after stopping all AAS. How long shall we wait? And health is being seriously compromised for the long term, as well as quality of life in the short term, while we wait.

I give my former AAS patients the option of trying to regain HPTA finction, but most simply want to begin feeling well again.

I'm going to give it 6 months then yes I think TRT will have to be done if I'm still like this.

Short term it is causing me injuries at the drop of a hat, which long term will cause problems training too from past experience

Hypogonadism long term wasn't a known side effect at least to me until recently, this should be made more known. At the moment most boards advocate 21 days clomid and you're as right as rain...
