I had insane libido sometimes. But that was when the pellets were letting loose a big amount. They didn’t release consistently that’s for sure. And massive spikes can mean virilization. Massive troughs suck. Injections can be titrated more precisely and if you go with Prop to start the half life is shorter so you can dial the dose up or down more quickly. More frequent pinning but worth it in the beginning. Once the dose is dialed in, switch to a longer ester (Cyp) and pin twice a week. Personally, I’m still very happy on Prop every morning, ~10mg/wk total.
I’d be curious where your friends were at with pellets. Year one was great for me. I also had higher BF so I was lacking around more estrogen. Year 2 things lessened, and then I lost a bunch of body fat, which is an estrogen reservoir, and hit perimenopause, and started lifting most days of the week, and the equation changed. The inconsistent release of the pellets meant huge spikes and troughs that were unpredictable.
Test can make my libido go up, but it’s test plus estrogen that makes things really magic. Estrogen is better for libido for me, and Test puts some teeth in it. But really, libido is the least of it all. Cognitive function, lean muscle mass, stable mood, maintaining bone density, etc etc, that’s what a lot of us 40 something’s and older are after.
