most worthless supplements

How is this going for you? Are you still on the Betaine HCL? Are your cough and post nasal drip still gone? I’m in the same boat. Nothing I’ve been given has gotten rid of it.
Its funny you bring this up I was at the Ear Nose and Throat today about my sinus like cough that has been steady now basically since my first Covid infection in 2020. As much as I would like to blame Covid I also have a house full of mold now worse that ever as well as a CPAP that overheats and gives a nice dose of plasticizers, overheating PC board fumes, and possibly fan motor winding burn fumes as well.

I told him that its like I have a GULLET in my throat that I can hawk what looks like saliva up whenever I am in a coughing fit. Apparently there is a condition where older people develop cavities in their esophagus just under the throat that can cause this. He wanted me to eat a barium burger for a scan. I declined for now. I figure the fuking sInus/head CT he got me for 3 millisieverts was plenty for now... Besides I would not have any surgery on it at this juncture regardless if I had the condition.

Its funny I should see this thread today because my digestive tract is totally fukked. Its like everything moves slow as shit in the upper GI, and then once it hits the large intestine it moves too fast to even re-uptake the water complete. IN SHORT I HAVE NOT SHIT RIGHT IN YEARS... Perhaps I should start with the Betaine for a serious 90 day run to test.

Sure some may take offense but here goes

1. Creatiine - You have access to AAS, GH, proper training and diet, this adds no benefit on top of this. if you recover and train hard, this little supplement that scientifically shows you will be .000 whatever percent stronger and it will take you .000 percent bigger does not ive real world results. Save your money. Not to mention it may be bad for kidneys we already stress other ways.

2. BCAA/EAA - No If you eat sufficient protein which you should be, these do not matter. Back in the day guys did not drink fancy pre-workout drinks. Your recovery is determined by genetics and your training programming not sipping on these around your workout or all day. Supplement companies love you if you use them and will keep showing studies as to why you should. They may benefit if you eat 1k calories per dy

3. Fish oil. Most of it is rancid, so if you use get the Carlsons. But unless you eat no fish or no fat (again dumb) you don't need these caps. Eat a balanced diet.

4. Beta Alanine- LOL if anyone uses this but for a while it was "the shit" among supplement heres.

5. Synthol- not a supplement and not many use or it would be number 1. LOL at synthol. Abused or used "properly", think about this for a second. Injecting oil to have fake muscle is idiotic and a mental disorder. No it does not stretch the fascia and make real muscle appear if you want to do this do Haney ramrods less stupid to stretch the fascia.

6. Digestive enzymes. You should eat food you digest. You can eat yogurt to help, you don't need pills to digest food. Adjust your diet. if you the dram queen who claims to not be able to digest food maybe you take too many medicines, don't know how to eat right, or most likely are a drama queen who claims their stomach for some reason doesn't work or you worry too much about how many times you shit and how your shit looks.

1. Creatine lol the most studied supp in history showing multiple benefits .
2.BCAA/EAA yes unless you use insulin.
3.Fish Oil essential health supp but it's costs a fortune for the good stuff.
4.Beta Alanine great for CrossFit useless for most lifters.
5.Synthol- the dirty secret of bodybuilding most people would rather admit to having a micropeen than admit using it.LOL at people who call synthol enhanced muscle fake yet consider steroid induced muscle growth real fucking delusional.
6.Digestive enzymes. Never used them no comment

Where's this creatine hate coming from? I still have tubs of og green magnitude everyday. Taurine, creatine. Beatine and others I forget the label. Creatine works. It's not steroids but it's a great addition for anyone

What’s with the digestive enzymes hate? For those who needs them.. they work.

What dosage of betaine HCL do you take?

I feel like my current MENT + HGH is giving me some indigestion. Food seems like it kinda sits in my stomach too long and I burp a lot. Plus my appetite has gone down a bit due to this, I can't eat every 3 hours like I would normally want to during a bulk. I was fine for a while, getting about 4k Cal in daily, then this just started within the last week or so.

I take digestive enzymes. I do absolutely notice a difference. Mainly reduced gas and better, more consistent poops. I realize a lot of people want to call bullshit but they really do seem to help quite a bit especially with larger or more dense, high protein meals.
@MFASS - You know I had to re-read this thread. Lately I quit drinking four lokos and then started back after a couple of months. The long and short is the first thing that slapped me in the face was how acetic they are AND also that I stated loosing weight again... But only after my metabolism had been stifled senseless from lack off. I could not figure out cause you would think that dropping 1500K cals per day in sugary alcohol would be a plus right???? BUt it was not and I am losing weight again since adding the lokos back.. So now I am starting to think Betaine may be what I need to supplement the acid I lost there. The worst part was my digestion went to shit after I quit drinking 2 of those per day and switched to a couple of Fosters instead... So it was not a simple matter of losing the alcohol and associated fluids... I think we are back on the kill acid reflux with more ACID and fuk the docs and their proton meds like Prilosec... The more I research the more I see people that have used this logic.. Im gonna try some betaine and go religious for a few months and report back.. Without the lokos.. LOL

Creatine is a great supp for anyone working out. My only caveat is that after 50 you got to take the HCL capsules or you will fuck you digestive tract up. I say HCL cause hopefully it absorbs in the stomach and does not get down in the lower GI to fuck up the microbiome like I am pretty certain it does. WHICH IS A HUGE DEAL IF SO.... But over 50 creatine is a must and must be cycled every 8 weeks IMHO..

But more so you must be careful if messing with HCL cause it is so acetic that it will absolutely rip you teeth apart not unlike an acid barf... Which is why I insist on the caps..

It's hard to really give such an award to supplement that deserves it, but I think one of them is beta alanine, that shit apart from doing nothing gives me unbereable tingling sensation. Fuck that. I know it's shown to work somewhat for endurance, but I ain't no marathon runner, so for me it is truly worthless and I hate it in pre workouts.

I like the tingle.. sometimes it can be too strong and make me itchy.. it is pretty useless.. I would assume L carn possibly as good for endurance?

Don't really take supplements other than a multivitamin, but recently ordered some BCAAs (figured if it even aided in recovering from high volume workouts 3-5%- then maybe it's worth it).

I can officially say that BCAAs are completely useless, other than maybe increasing my water intake moderately because the flavor is half decent, but crystal light also serves this function too.

I wonder from time to time. The say that Lysine is so powerful that it might only take a few grams to make a big difference if you can get it to the right spot. I would have to chase down the study.. At least I think I recall all that correctly.

but have you tried it thru your workout in an intra-workout DRANK..

Now I am looking for feedback on HMB. Its gotten so inexpensive and I swear since I stopped it I stopper gaining. I hade an intraworkout drink with HMB, Citrulline, and beta alanine that I swear supported my 2.5 hour workout pretty good...

I have tried HMB a few times over the last 20 years with no noticeable results myself.

Yes thank you for the feedback - appreciated..
Well I do think its a derivative of Leucine ( I think I got it wrong when I said "Lysine" in an earlier post). So you would have to take it intra-workout to give it a fair chance. I DO question the whole BCAA thing but I have to wonder what a few milligrams can do with the right timing as they say just a small amount can be significant if you work it right.... Just saying I am going to try it once more now that I am starting to get some shape back to me.. I will report at that time. Should happen in next year I am hitting it pretty much daily so it will get its best chance to make a mark if its going to. Either way you slice it I doubt young guys could get anything from any of that regardless..

It should be noted that in my early 50's I think shit just goes right thru my stomach without being processed. This could be a plus in terms of the simple proteins and their efficacy..

I used it in my 30's with no results as i wrote. But i was eating 300+ gr of protein year round. So i was getting a butt load of BCAA and EAA's. And then in my 60's as it was Dr. recommended to help healing from a surgery. But my healing was well within what i would expect from me supplementing HMB or not. I would think that those that may see benifits are people that have less than optimal diets. As i think diet is the most important thing.
