I do not do this often but I was channel surfin at lunch yesterday and came across the Montell Williams Show..he was belly aching about how bad the blacks have it in our country and how beaten down he has become.He tried to make some sort of point using the Miss America Pageant as his subject.. I never did figure out exactly where he was going with that but it had something to do with a black not winning it often enough or something like that.Then a winner from years past was interviewed..she was black..and very pretty may I add..but she was rambling on about not being treated fairly as Miss America during her reign because of being black..I was lost and still cannot figure out what they were trying to get across?!Then he had two muslim sisters on(they both looked pretty good too) they were raising hell about being detained at JFK the day the London bombers were foiled.Montell made a big deal about muslims being interviewed,detained,interogated,and their luggage and pass ports double checked at JFK airport at the time of the London bomb scare.Word up bro's..do not watch the Montel Show it will leave you feeling disoriented !

Hey, I have no problem with exclusionary practices. What I have a problem with is all of the crybabies(women and colored folks) bitching about how they can't get into this or that and how dare us evil white male opressors keep them out...AND THEN THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS TURN AROUND AND CREATE EXCLUSIONARY CLUBS THEMSELVES!!!!

Ha! Preacher reminded me of a couple years ago, during my undergrad, when some guys on campus decide to have an Animal Rights BBQ! It was awsome! Idiots!!! The purposefor creating "exclusionary" sources is due to the unavailability of African-Americans being represented in entertainment. Why was BET created? Because this was the only possible manner for African-Americans to hear their own music, address issues pertinent to their communities, gain a sense of pride in their culture, and most important, because caucasian radio stations were obsessed with caucasian music. The quesion that must be asked is: "Was there a need to create such outlets?" Invariably, the answer is yes. Had African-Americans and women not been excluded from many segments of society, then the need would not exist. If you want someone to be angry at, be angry at the fools that caused the situations.

The irony is that caucasians always bitch about minorities not initiating independence. But, then want to bitch even more because when African-Americans do take their destiny into their own hands, they find some reason to pick at how it's being conducted. Either your pregnant or you ain't pregnant. African-Americans are not in need of predicating the worth to caucasians. Until they have equal representation in the media, and other segments of society they have every right to address their own issues in a manner which is in their best interest. Caucasians have been doing this for generations...and continue to do it.

WRONG!!! It isn't 20%, and the vast majority of African-American shows are broadcasted on African-American stations with the except of WB (or whatever the name is now). Try again!

Secondly, there is a stark difference between admitting a single "token" into the pageant and not winning, as oppose to equal representation. Bottom line, caucasians control the pageants, and are inclined towards admiting their own. If caucasians are capable of celebrating their perception of beauty, truly other races are entitled to that very same right. Again, Grizz it amazes me that you speak without knowledge. Wow, apparently you haven't watched MTV, MTV2 or MTVjams in the last 10 years. I mean come on, I don't mind some rap music, but the vast majority of programing on these channels caters towards black music.

And as far as having opportunities in this country, minorities have it made. There are special grants available for all minorities who want to start a business, go to college, or whatever. People of all races need to start taking responsibility for their own life and stop worrying about every one elses. If you really want something and have the desire and drive to get it, nothing will hold you back, especially not the color of your skin.

Personally, I don't listen to RAP. However, that's neither here or there. Again, BET is a direct result of exclusionary tactics used by the entertainment industry. You say: "why don't whites get a White Peoples Station." Answer: the majority of networks and programming is specifically geared towards white people in America. By default you have WET, and have had one since the beginning of television history.

MTV now plays a considerable amount of Rhythmic American Poetry partially due to the fact that more than 70% per cent of all RAP is purchased by caucasians.

I challenge anyone on this board to prove that most entertainment created by African-Americans for African-Americans were not due to some form of racism.

Concerning the availability of minority grants: Research the dstribution of those "grants." Many of the grants are in the control of white politicians, which never make their way to minorities. Likewise, there are available grants for white people. Why were these grants created? Minorities are still disciminated against by banks, although they may have a comparable credit history and income as their white counter parts.

Read up on the distribution of grants, and bank loans to minorities. A report was just released earlier this year.
