UFC is one of the rare things for me where it doesnt matter who is fighting, its always good. Unlike boxing where the fights suck, but you watch because of the names. But I still have a problem with the way Dana White puts fights together. I wish there was a good ranking system that they actually followed instead of him making matches between whoever he thinks will bring in the most money. That would make it more of a sport and less of a show to me.
I have no problem with dana. He's done built this thing from nothing. He's not like that scumbag Bob arum in boxing. Sure dana doesn't have a science to his rankings but who the fuck wants to see rousey v tate AGAIN!
As far as I'm concerned the UFC has the bigger names. Boxing has one name and he's finished. Who the hell are these guys fighting any way? I digress. UFC is more exciting and technical hands down. No argument. A superior fight system. A superior athlete.
What's even more shocking to me are the champions of other "leagues" and how they don't match UFC talent. That list is long long long. Bellator? Ya it's nice but those paper champions wouldn't fill up the middle talent level on a ufc roster.

As much as I f...ing hate Diaz, I give him credit for having big balls but no real brains lol
I fee like boxing is more of a chess match and coincidentally just like watching one..boring
Ufc is more explosive and def more challenging as you have dudes matching up who are proficient in stand up vs someone who is better at jujutsu.
I don't like the way Dana sometimes is about fights and promoting but this is his show and he did create it from nothing so I guess he kinda has to keep it on top and keep attracting more fans. Like I heard something the don't want that holly chick to fight again till rousey is ready for a rematch.

GSP took way too much damage his last couple of fights, his face and brain got destroyed. I do remember reading that he felt like he was missing a step.

Paige VanZant is 100 percent legit. She's only 21, and pretty much dominated her first three fights in the UFC against battletested, top girls. She's well rounded, and real good at pressuring girls and grinding them out. She has TKO finishes (punches) and submission finishes. Only one decision.
Personality wise, Paige is a SUPER sweet, humble, respectful, intelligent, Christian girl.
She trains at Team Alpha Male (Uriah Faber, Chad Mendes etc.)
She lost her first (UFC) fight a couple weeks ago, but it was against the number two ranked straw weight in the world. But she was VERY resilliant. She had a couple massive cuts, and was bleeding very heavily into her eyes (you couldn't see her face she was so bloody), and she still managed to survive until the last minute when she was armbarred. Like I said though, she was fighting a tough bitch.
You wouldn't think so, but the top three or so girls in that tiny division, are stone cold fucking killers. Johanna, the champion, is undefeated, and is also a muay tai champion, and she slices bitches up like a razor everytime she fights. Same thing with Claudia Ghedalia. (I butchered some name spellings)

Every Joana Jedrzejczyk (Champ) fight is a blood bath. Check out her fight against Jessica Penne... Penne had to have plastic surgery on her nose.

Here was my all time favorite Strong Man Marius vs Bob Sapp. I use to love watching Marius dominate the WSM for years at a time. Fuckin beast mode shit. I sure would hate having his meat hooks pounding away at my head lol.

@jaymaximus, I know you said you don't get into the personalities/behind the scenes, but man, it can really add a layer of intimacy that makes it that much greater.
The weighins are later today on FS1, sometimes they are are FIREWORKS, and an awesome way to get informed and PUMPED for the fights.
The weighins are an -event- in and of themselves for me. I CRANK THAT SHIT UP, get a good pump on, and do everything but head butt the screen.
Joe Rogan is the host, and when the music comes on, and he screams "WELCOME TO THE WEIGHINS", with the crowd screaming, and the fighters trying to get that last ditch psychlogical adavantage and intimidation...Face to face, eye to eye.
It's fucking game time.

A couple of my favorite "freak fights", was the very first UFC fight that ever happened, Gerard Gordeaux, tall skinny kickboxer, vs Tela Tula, big fat sumo wrestler...
That shit was over QUICK, and everybody including the fighter that had there doubts, KNEW, that this shit really is as real as it gets.
Also, Kieth Hackney vs 500 pound Emanuel Yarborough.

The UFC was better when it was on spike. Fox doesn't give the broad all expansive coverage spike did. I'm outta the loop now.
