Making the switch to power-lifting for a while (soon)

Update,
Programme is going well! Week 5 now and going strong, its getting easier and easier!
New DL record of 200kg (440LBS)!!!!! So damn happy, so I plastered that video all over my Insta and Facebook, never before have I lifted anything on any exercise for that round number!

Last pin today on my cycle so I am very nervous, about the coming weeks, glad I still have a decent dose of test in my system for the next 2 weeks so I will continue to utilize that, I just really pray that I can keep my head screwed on when my hormones come crashing down to natty levels.

I know I am going to miss pinning, as I have a minimum of 6 months between now and starting my next cycle, the idea of coming off is such a bad feeling.

PCT at hand, I just hope its enough to recover from this 25 week killer. No HCG, just Clomid and Nolva for 6 weeks.

Food intake will increase and I will do my best to keep training intensity, following the programme will help me do this of course, just need to hit those reps!

Wish me luck, I am fucking bricking the road to recovery already.

So I knew I would mess up the log eventually (I always do).
But everything is going swell so far, haven't failed a rep yet, although I have been close.

It has been 1 week since I last pinned, already gutted even though I have another week for whats left of my test in my system.

My mates keep trying to deadlift the 200kg (440lbs) PB I managed and only I can do it LOL, I cant deny it boosts my ego watching them fail, especially considering I'm smaller than them.

This weeks heavy finishing sets were:
SQ 5x119kg (262lbs)
BP 5x 105kg (231lbs)
Row 5x100kg (220lbs)
OHP 5x55kg (121lbs)
DL 5x173kg (380lbs)

-----------------ADVICE PLZ-----------------
Just an attempt to keep this all in the same thread... again regarding my PCT.

I read that you shouldn't pop the Nolva and CLomid at the same time, is this correct?
I have 60 Nolva tabs, 24 Clom tabs.

I was thinking 2x of each for the 1st week..
1 nolva on week 2-6
Clomid would run out by the 3rd day of week 3 assuming I do 50mg a day (1 tab).

How to I time the tablets? obviously on the 1st week I would split daily dose into 2 lots, but would it be something like:
week 1 - 9am Nolv / 1pm / Clom / 5pm Nolv / 9pm Clom.... thats just an example, or would you just take 1 of each at the same time?
Say, 9am Clom&Nolva - 9pm Clom&Nolva.

I'm totally fucking lost on this at the moment!

Sorry for the essay chaps.

Realized I haven't posted in a while (Been keeping busy on another forum)

Training has been going well, but starting to struggle..

Week 1 of PCT complete and I may be thinking too much, but I can definitely tell hormones are low(!)

With training, I haven't failed any sets yet, although I did have to grind out my most recent set of bench and deadlift... almost hitting a stall! (Gutted)

This weeks heavy sets:
Bench - 5 x 108kg (240lbs)
Squat - 5 x 122kg (270lbs)
Row - 5 x 103kg (227lbs)
Deadlift - 5 x 178kg (390lbs)

Now that I have come off and feel human again, it is taking a lot of psyching up to get these work sets done! Deadlifts were spread over a minute for 5 reps -.-

3 days off now, then the week is a deload, hopefully I am feeling a bit better next week.

Tough it out like you are doing already. It's a small timeframe and you'll push through it a stronger competitor. Good job on the numbers!

Thank you mate,
I hit the gym much harder than usual this week given that I am away for a long weekend, 4 days on, as intense as can be.. that mixed with coming off cycle and PCT kicking in, im not sure if its over training, PCT blues, or a mix of both.

I will be doing the deload because I just dont feel right =[ Lethargic & no motivation.. needless to say that when I am in the gym I still follow my programme and get the job done! If deload doesn't get me feeling better then I know its the PCT, as you said I will just soldier through and do what I need to do!

Still chasing my goal numbers bro ;P I look forward to it.

Update, week 8 of MadCow.
Monday was interesting, my squats are super easy, however I never did enter test my true 1 rep max, so I have plenty of room to lift more on legs, heavy set of this week was 5x275 (125kg)

Bench was very close to stalling and the reps were 5x242lbs (110kg), my mate was spotting me and I am sure he had to touch the bar but I am not sure... eyes were closed and teeth were grit!

Rows I am definitely at my limit I think, I had to cheat the last few reps on my heavy set of 5x230 (105kg).

Overhead press is coming along nicely, the 1st rep is near impossible, I need to work out my form from unracking to getting in that 1st real rep, I need to jump into it a little for momentum, but once its up I can do nice controlled reps, weird, just the 1st initial rep off the chest proves very difficult. (Anyone have advice to share regarding this?)

I was very happy with my deadlifts yesterday, 5x401 (182.5kg), flew up on every rep! I was overly aggressive and didn't listen to my body, so I feel like I've pulled something, wrist seemed to boardeline dislocate on the 5th rep (felt like a click), and my back feels a bit dodgy...

So, overall the reps and progress are still underway, but I do feel a stall coming for something soon... not sure whats going to give 1st!

So I have decided to take a week off gym... not happy but I feel it has to be done.
Back is pretty fucked. Had a light day on Monday and it didn't help at all, some seated flies, lying flies etc, just working the lats a little bit to get it moving, but stuck with this pain and it has spread through my left rib.. so looks like rest is on the books.

Planned my next cycle which is due to start Halloween! Just posted on the cycle page, so please feel free to check it out and let me know if you have any knowledge to share, or if I can move the compounds around in the plan for optimal results.

Listen to your body. It lets your know when enough is enough lol

Not sure why you're doing flyes to move the lats? Your lats don't really engage during a flye... In your situation, and for want you were trying to do, maybe a dumbbell pullover would be more effective to loosen up/stretch the area?

Hard to say since you didn't really go into why your back is messed up....

I realize how stupid it sounds now that I read it over lol... I was doing a back day which is the only reason I mentioned it.

I also done some pulldowns on the cables but the stretch is too painful.

The reason my back went out in the 1st place was deadlifting...5x5.
4th rep coming up somethig just pulled... but I finished the rep AND did the 5th. I just didnt listen to my body. Now given that I managed to complete my last 2 reps, I think it is just a minor injury, aka nothing has torn/broken... but I am just not sure what the actual problem is.

Pain is slowly subsiding (its been 4 days now since this happened).

Sounds like you pulled the lat a bit. If the bar gets out on front of you a bit when you're fighting for a rep, you have to pull it back into your body - just happens subconsciously...

I've pulled my lat that way before deadlift in... Once down at the insertion at the bottom, and once up around the armpit..

Takes time to heal, and it's really easy to reinjure if you don't let it heal..

Thanks mate, that's reassuring, well the rest of the week is strictly cardio anyway, as of Monday I may do a week of light lifting.

Cheers
