Hello,

In a custody battle, and because of a positive steroid test the judge took my son away from me in the pre-trial.

Here is the thing, I have valid prescriptions for the test that I take from Mexico. I even brought official letters from my doctors explaing my test theropy. I live in Texas some of the time and in Mexico the other time. I am a white us citizian, but have residence in Mexico as well. I have a home in MX, a bussiness in MX, all my Doctors are in MX and my driver's license says MX. The judge says I have to go to a specialist in the US and have testing done here. WTF!!!!! This bitch thinks she GOD.

I had an accident as a child and one of my testicles doesnt work, about four yeas ago I had to start taking test. Isnt this an invasion of my privacy and isn't my medical info protected and how can she demand me go to a US doc. My medical insurance is only for Mexico, I have no US insurance. They want $2500 to do the indocrin, testing!!!

Anyone help is MUCH appriciated!

thats a tough one...some US officials, child protective services government entities dont recognize some foreign scripts and medicines..if the judge says you need a US script, then you will need one..you can get some online docs that will give you a script much less than that..check out allthingsmale.com or other online trt... or, you can wait this out, get your system clean and get another blood test...also since you have already tested positive, the courts may make you take some steps before you get custody..one may be regular testing and some classes... not sure what state you are in, but I would appeal the matter how ever necessary... check around other docs or medical facilities..if a legit doc in mexico will give it to you, then maybe a U.S. doc may do so cheaper than 2500.

What is the basis of the court's decision?

That a positive steroid test is proof that you violated the law?!

That a positive steroid test proves that you use steroids and steroid users are bad parents?!

That a positive steroid test is proof that you are a violent person?! (Are there any allegations of spousal abuse, etc.?

My attorney said its bs, everyone here says that Judge is crazy. Its small town bs I think.
The Judge said that "steroids are bad and make you go crazy!" No, allegations of me being abusive of out of control or anything have been made. The only thing that was brought up is that I was arrested for possession of steroids 7 years.

In the case before, a man had a script from Canada for pain meds and had a positive drug test and the Judge was okay. But with me, when she heard STEROIDS she was real excited and brought up all the old Baseball crap.

dont know what the basis of the judges decision... it is b.s. I agree but remember, judges are damn there Gods in the judicial system.... she could have also rendered a decision based on your a U.S citizen, and the case is in U.S. soil and therefore want a U.S. script...now canada may have some legalities mexico doesnt when it comes to certain meds and controlled substances that coincides with the fda/customs and dea etc...keep fighting and it boils down to having to do what the courts say...also if you can..try to get around to getting another judge if a decision hasnt been handed down by her yet

Keep in mind that there is no violation of U.S. steroid law merely by testing positive for steroids via blood or urine test.

One could fly to Mexico or various other countries where AAS can be obtained over the counter, they could be injected legally in that jurisdiction prior to returning to the U.S.

Heck, one could theoretically fly to Amsterdam for monday lunch every week to visit a coffeeshop, fly back and test positive for marijuana on american soil indefinitely, and never violate U.S. law.

A script from a U.S. doctor is only required to legally POSSESS steroids. I don't think that is the issue here.

I think you were right when you stated that judges can require people do any arbitrary thing they want!

the mere testing positive of a steroid is not illegal unless used as partial evidence of possession, probation etc... but child custody is not a criminal process..... just the mere testing positive can raise a judges red flags when determining child custody and visitation...even if no reports or claims of any wrong doing or child abuse (neglect, physical, sexual) have been purported... obviously he has a judge, as most people, have no clue. until we know why the judge acted as she did, we wont know her reasoning.....

why did you have to test anyway?????...a docs permission is also used for possession, ingestion, and having it be in your system..the latter is not as common but comes into play when drug testing in government agencies, probation/parole etc.. you need a script to have a positive blood test of aas...

case in point. of what a judge can do.....I have friend who's girlfriend had a baby and the baby tested positive for meth. mommy had smoked meth during pregnancy.. the baby was handed over to CPS in cali. the father wanted to get his child back, so he petitioned the courts...the courts made him take a drug test.. one month prior he smoked marij, and tested positive. the courts would not let him have the child due to the mere test..mom and dad did not live together. the courts are making him test weekly, go to drug classes for 6 months and they ordered mom to go to a live-in rehab for 6 months before they could get the child back.. they would only let them have supervised visitaion 2 hrs per week. I blame mom more than anything, but dad did not do anywrong to the child, to not be given his child and ordered drug classes, and could not be alone with his own child.

Thanks bro for the info about custody process! It seems that basis is the assumption that steroid use may be related to parenting skills via roid rage or increased aggression - which is not well supported by scientific lit.

I wish @mexman would post an update. I think I might have insight into this case.

Testosterone occurs naturally in the body so just finding it means nothing. You have to have large (IE supra physiological/exogenous amounts to test positive.) The test for test (excuse the pun) is to check your EP/Test ratios. You would have to be on much more than TRT levels (at least 300mg per week) to even come close to testing positive. The most any responsible US doc would put you on is 150-200 max.

How much test are you on, and are you taking anything else?
