Lantus Storage and shelf life UGL

Hi all,

What I understand is that Lantus should be refrigerated until first use and then used up within a month. A few vendors here are offering Lantus, either original pharma or UGL. Both are in transit for 1-3 weeks when ordered and not cooled during that time. How detrimental is this for the shelf life and can you actually re-refrigerate vials or pens? If not, it would be really hard to build a stash. Any input is welcome.

Thats a long time to be out of the fridge. The only way to know is if you take some and go hypo.

I've order insulin from overseas to US and worked as expected

Insulin lasts pretty dang long, even in unrefridgerated transport.
I take my Insulin on holidays without temperature control (packaging/cooling) and it works just as always. Leaving it in direct sunlight and temps above 50 celsius or higher can cause it to flake out, so if it starts looking white you should bin it. also, pharam insulin is dirt cheap if you know where to look, no reason to ever use UGL. the standard 3ml cartridges last 30 days @ 10 IUs/day, which is no problem shelf life wise. properly stored you can keep it for almost a decade,
