I am lactose intolerant but drink whey shakes on a regular basis does being lactose intolerant inhibit protein absorption or digestion?

I feel fine after I drink it its only in the morning I have issues and no diarrhea.I mean after you drink your whey protein shake do you feel bad? Beyond this i was a lactose intolerant so i know what does it mean, my advice is to avoid dairy products for 3-4 weeks after that try your tolerance to them (don't go heavy). About your concern of proteins not being used by your body it depends on how it reacts to lactose, do you get diarrhea? You're loosing nutrients; do you just constantly fart? Your body is telling you something is wrong, not a BIG deal but better to make some adjustments.
No milk ,I use optimum nutrition isolate ,I feel fine using it post workout its only in morning i feel bloat discomfort. i only mix with water and only add creatine to the mix.Your not using milk in your shake are you? If not how much lactose is in the protein?
If you are lactose intolerant isolate is a good choice. It will contain little or no lactose. No milk ,I use optimum nutrition isolate ,I feel fine using it post workout its only in morning i feel bloat discomfort. i only mix with water and only add creatine to the mix.
I agree.i just have to deal with a little morning discomfort. If you are lactose intolerant isolate is a good choice. It will contain little or no lactose.
Im glad you brought up true nutrition..i was almost tempted to create a thread on them...anyway, do you buy the ready to go blends or create your own? Reason i ask is, they have things like turmeric and other extras to add...or make your blend 50% this and 50% that etc, in thinking of lactose free, which route do you personally go?Go to true nutrition or the like and get yourself a blend of beef and egg protein or something similar. I am lactose intolerant as well and it took years for me to pull away from dairy but once I dI'd my stomach issues disappeared. I mix mine with lactose free milk, tastes like shit but not as bad as say one of the musclemilk premixed drinks and the local gym tastes like.
I do 60/40 egg over beef keeps it a little less grainy but the beef helps with the farting from the egg for some reason otherwise it would be 100% egg.Im glad you brought up true nutrition..i was almost tempted to create a thread on them...anyway, do you buy the ready to go blends or create your own? @DrinkFlintWater I've never done any of the other add in supplements though so I can't help you there. I've only ordered protein blends. Keep the mixes small until you find a blend and flavor you like and works with your body otherwise you're gonna get stuck with pounds of some nasty ass shit lolI do 60/40 egg over beef keeps it a little less grainy but the beef helps with the farting from the egg for some reason otherwise it would be 100% egg.
Yes, thank you, this was my thought too. So many choices on there and my luck ill end up creating a concoction that ill regret when im trying to get it down...I've never done any of the other add in supplements though so I can't help you there.
