Kind of a stupid question, but please answer

I'm dieting really hard. But I do have a social life, and when I go out, I like to have a few drinks. What would you say the best drink would be for someone cutting up. By no means do I go out everynight (maybe once a week) and by no means do I drink a lot, but what would be the best. Maybe a mixed drink like vodka and diet sprite or something. I know, it sounds like a dumb question, but just curious. Thanks, Ziggy

If I'm not mistaken, I think that a shot of vodka has about 100 calories. As far as the drink to mix it with, yeah, diet soda would probably be best... better than oj if your cutting up.

I would stay away from beer though. A regular beer has about 150 cal. and a light has about 100, but it has carbs in it, probably the kind of carbs you don't wanna be drinking when cutting up. I'm not sure, because I don't drink beer.

Ziggy I could help you out. Vodka and plain rum (not captain morgans) has zero sugar and if you mix them with a diet soda each drink will contain approx. 66 calories. I would stay away from beer, but if you really really wanted one you could drink the ultra lite by michelob, I believe it has under two grams of carbs if I am not mistaken, but more like 100 calories.
Hope this helps.
Thank you

lol I'm starting to notice they have alcoholic beverages advertising low carbs, I believe one said one carb no guilt. Where does the madness end.

any hard alcohol mixed with a diet pop will be pretty low in calories. i like Jack and diet cokes personally. but you also have to consider how strong you mix them. correct me if i'm wrong but im pretty sure alcohol conatins 7 cal/g

another thing, im so sick of the damn millerlite commercials bragging about how millerlite has a third less carbs than coors light and shit. a typical lite beer has like 7 grams of carbs. so that means miller lite has 5 grams instead of 7. whooptie fuckin doo

Apparently they all have more "carbs" than they claim. If it is 110 cals, 0 protein, 0 fat. Where do the other cals come from? Carbs. I think the FDA does not require alcohol sugars to be called carbs? In my book, you are getting 20+ carbs in a "lite" beer.

It's not alcohol sugars. It's alcohol; as in ethanol(I think that's the one you drink). Protein and carbs= 4cal/gram. Fat= 9cal/gram. Alcohol= 7cal/gram.

the calories come from alcohol. as someone else said alcohol contains 7cal/gram. its almost like drinking pure fat!

I dont think it is like drinking fat, but they def. are empy calories. Let me ask you a question, why not smoke a little pot instead of the occasional drink. It is good for appetite and is really fun :)
Hope this helps.
Thank you

It's similar to drinking straight fat, in that alcohol calories MUST be used before the body uses any of the other calories that you have ingested. So, if you drink 1k worth of alcohol calories, there is 1k worth of food calories sitting around fucking off all day while the alcohol is burned.

Grizzly, thank you for clearing that up for me, I did not know that.
Thank you

Thanks Griz for the clarification. Even so, it is marketing at it's finest. Big titted women and low carb beer, how can you go wrong?
