Maybe this was their October Surprise...

60 MINS PLANNED BUSH MISSING EXPLOSIVES STORY FOR ELECTION EVE

News of missing explosives in Iraq -- first reported in April 2003 -- was being resurrected for a 60 MINUTES election eve broadcast designed to knock the Bush administration into a crisis mode.

Kerry Ad

JOHN KERRY: "The obligation of a Commander in Chief is to keep our country safe. In Iraq, George Bush has overextended our troops..."

JOHN KERRY: "...and now failed to secure 380 tons of deadly explosives."

JOHN KERRY: "The kind used for attacks in Iraq, and for terrorist bombings."

JOHN KERRY: "His Iraq misjudgments put our soldiers at risk, and make our country less secure. And all he offers is more of the same. As President, I'll bring a fresh start to protect our troops and our nation. I'm John Kerry and I approved this message.

The only problem...they were duped!

The explosives were removed before our troops arrived!

John Kerry wakes up every morning and looks at the newspapers to find his message for the day. If there is anything bad in Iraq in the morning papers...that is the topic of the day.

IMO, that is the sign of a weak campaign...he has yet to find his message other than the typical "i'm not bush...I can do better" shit.

This is yet more evidence of CBS' bias. This story was in the news in the summer of 2003, its not "new" news. CBS was purposely holding onto the story and was planning on running it Oct 30 or 31, but the NYT decided to run it yesterday.

I never thought I'd say this, but "thank you New York Times".

Now, why can't these fuckers post the real story as to what really happened with them. IMO, those are the trucks that Colin Powell was talking about going to Syria.

Also, if this shit is as bad as they say it is...why did the IAEA let Saddam keep it??? They should have destroyed.

They just had David Kay on CNN. They asked Kay "should Saddam have been allowed to keep this material?". Kay responded along the lines of "absolutely not, but Saddam claimed it was explosives required for road construction". Kay then went on to say that this stuff is waaaaayy too expensive to use for road blasting. Kay said the UN and the IAEA should have taken this stuff from Saddam, but they let him keep it.

I think this works to Bush's advantage.
