New member from Florida,

50 years old, avid fisherman and sporting clays shooter living my best life down here in sunny Florida. 3 years ago I decided I was tired of being fat and out of shape. I have 3 kids and my youngest is 12, so having a health dad around for as long as possible is very important. I was pretty overweight, 250 pounds at 5'9", not a good look and not very healthy.

I had a couple things going for me, I had stopped drinking a couple years earlier and was getting into riding my bike again. Made some progress, but felt like the pounds just weren't coming off like they use too. Around this time my uncle was down here on vacation, he was 67 or 68 at the time and was a bodybuilder in his thirties and a powerlifter from then on. We started talking about lifting and he said I'll come work out with you while I'm here. Let me tell you this old man is a bad dude. 5'7" 175 pounds and to this day still benches 335, squats 400 and leg presses 1000. All this with 2 hip replacements. He still has a couple 50 plus masters records in Michigan. Those couple of workouts lit a fire and I started lifting 3-4 four days a week for the next 2 years almost. I got a little stronger and lost a few pounds but no big changes.

This is when I went and had all my hormone levels checked. Imagine to my surprise my total T was 159 and my free was 5 if I remember right. My sister in-laws brother is a nurse practitioner and owns a health and weight loss business. Got on TRT and really quickly started getting stronger and started to eat way too much. I put on around 25-30 pounds in a short time and was 270lbs, way to heavy for my frame.

Decided to really get my nutrition is check and started using Tirzepitide to help with the weight loss.

Over the next 8 months, I dropped 70lbs and got my health and mobility completely back. Every bio-marker in the green, BP back to normal and a renewed zest for life. My marriage improved, i'm crushing it at work and I'm very happy with where i'm at.

I'm here to learn and fine tune. I'm not looking to be a competitive bodybuilder, but I do respect the amount of work and dedication that goes into that sport and lifestyle.

Attached is a before and after picture of my progress, i'm 270 in the first pic and 202 in the second. My current goal is to be 185-190 pounds and be around 12% body fat.
