I've wondered for a long time now if this will ever change, and needles/syringes will become significantly more difficult to acquire. Maybe just IM would become Rx, as the harm reduction demographic and diabetics both use insulin needles for their purposes. I'm probably being paranoid..FDA approval designates a product as "rX Only" or "Over the Counter".
Hospira BAC is FDA approved and clearly marked rX Only on the bottle.
It's illegal under federal law to dispense rX Only without a prescription. That's why they took that off syringes when states wanted to make them available for harm reduction.
