Is cardio not working for me ?

This morning I had my first ever cardio on an empty stomach. Because I didn't want to burn muscle I tried to stay in my target rate that is 114 (220-57 [I'm old]x.7).
First problem : I had to be very slow and on the easiest gear (n1) ; even that way, hardly moving, my heart rate was between 99 and 136, but most of the time above 124. It was changing all the time.
Second problem : after 45 mn I had run 4.9 km, burnt 183.8 cal. with a speed between 4.7 and 5.5 km/h :confused:
Third problem : before cardio my BG was 131 (I'm a diabetic) and after cardio, it was ...131 !! No change :( I suppose i didn't burn any fat, I didn't even burn sugar.

What would you advise me to do ? Don't tell me to go and see a doctor, each time I see one of them he keeps telling me to stop T4, T3 and AAS. But my bf is 2.7 % with all that and a diet :D
 
by "bf is 2.7%" you do mean that your body fat is 2.7%, right?
why would you be concerned with burning more fat?
a body fat percentage that low would be incredibly ripped.
 
I'm with bg65. With you bf being 2.7%, why are you even worried about losing fat? I could see if you want to be in better cardio shape, but then you would have to get your heart rate up. I usually try to keep my heart rate between 150 and 160, with my resting heart rate being 60.

I have never heard of anyone bhaving only 2.7% bf !
My resting heart rate is about 99. 60 is a very good measure.
 
2.7% bodyfat would be bordering on death.

GB, Personally I would use a stationary bike or elliptical machine for cardio instead of running. IMO, running sucks for numerous reasons.

Your resting heart rate is quite high, but once you start a consistent regimen of cardio you should notice it coming down in a short period of time.
 
I can't seem to lose much fat doing cardio,I respond much better to weight training...hell I lost over 100lbs with weight training alone,my buddy can do cardio and shed pounds extermely quick,but I can't shed barely anything. lol Go Fogure.
 
I don't do cardio for cutting any more than I do for bulking.

Cardio is crucial............for health.

Diet is 99% of cutting.

I know......I know.......redundant post.
