A drug dealer or addict is worth more alive then dead in the USA because of all the money they make using the penal system and through the probation system, property seizures and so on. There is no money to be made rehabilitating an addict in fact it cost more money. Keeping them stuck in the system is a business move.

Makes me wonder about the Dutch, free needles, free gov lab drug testing for purity with no incrimination, free medically supervised safe places to shoot, decriminalization of certain drugs.
Results so far are incarceration rate down, drug related crime down, drug related medical harm down...... this highly monitored Dutch drug experiment appears to have nothing but positive impacts on the harm reduction in their society.
They see it as a social and medical problem to solve not a war to pretend to fight while making a profit from fighting it.

The problem is it's cheaper to produce and process than the heroin itself. In my town they recently had 2 busts in a week of the shit and it was enough to kill everybody 4 times in the town. Fucking wild to say the least. I also understand that a lot of the shit they are selling on the street now is no longer heroin it contains mostly fent.

New England seems to have been hit pretty hard by OD’s that are a result of fentanyl. My state alone had about a thousand OD’s just last year and not getting any better. Crooks will find a way to make their profits...

Made me laugh when the reporter said that patients get 50-100mcg of Fentanyl prior to surgery. As if the drug was so strong, that it was all they needed to get them through, lol. Maybe in some cases, (that would be a good start) but others get more, in addition to Midazolam(Versed) or Lorazepam(Ativan). Depends on the situation and person in which they are administering the drug. They will typically get even more Fentanyl during surgery, and its common to administer another 200mcg (2mL) of Fentanyl after surgery. In many, many, many instances, where that still wasn't enough, PACU nurses will on to administer Morphine, Dilaudid and even Ketamine in rare cases.
However, we all know that reporters have to sensationalize the story as much as possible to make the amount he was caught with seem like enough to kill the nation if it got out, lol. Don't get me wrong, 3/4 of a gallon is a shit-ton of Fentanyl, and I'm not saying what this guy did was okay, but I hate how the news skews things to pump their story. Obviously Fentanyl is dangerous, due to its effects on the respiratory system (respiratory depression), but this reporter was wrong about the doses she reported.

Ya, I would believe 2mg, but she said 50 to 100mcg, which there are 1000mcg in 1mg. And we always dose Fentanyl in mcg... So 2mg would be like 20 doses at once. The sensationalism comes from the her saying they only give 1 or 2 doses for surgery when, in fact, we give much, much more.
