Inner chest exercises.

Mhy inner chest really needs help compared to the rest of it. What would target inner chest best?

What about outer, lower chest? I heard dips are good for it so I started lots of those. I'm getting to the point I need to do weighted dips though.

Like @gr8whitetrukker said he's presses are great do the inner chest and can be done on an incline or flat bench. I also like the chest press machine where it's pretty inclined and the weight it on the pivot point (don't know the name of this machine). Instead of sitting facing forwards and pushing the weight straight out, sit on it sideways and push the weight across your chest from left to right and vice versa. For me it isolates the inner chest quite well.

Edit**hex presses

I like doing those but I hold the pad in the front instead of on the sides. Dips work great for lower chest if you get more parallel to the ground or in other words cheating on dips. The more you cheat the better they will work your chest. I switch it up but do either one of those everytime I do chest.

I prefer the cable fly machine facing my thump toward each other as I press in. For max contraction, you can criss-cross your arm and squeeze that MFer!. I also like to do diamond push-up (works tris and inner peck).. just remember at the top to squeeze!

Nothing to add that hasnt been already said....
Hex press also called candlesticks or chandeliers in my part of the world superset with dumbell flys

Soo... You can grow one part of the muscle fiber and not the rest of it? Sorry. Leaving that to be bro science. Body doesn't work that way based on a text book I'm holding in my hand.
Try an exercise that allows you to completely cross your body. Do one arm at a time. Contract it till there's no range of motion left. That ending position(peak contraction) is past where your hands would be touching each other straight out in front of you, like your doing a fly.

there is two musclea, pec major and minor. And there are MANY underlaying muscles under the two major pec major and minor. So when you hit those they puff up that part of your chest more. So I am pretty sure you can make one part bigger. There is one allong the sternum, and A bunch on the outer part on your chest running from lower to upper. SSo when you do an outer chest exercise you are hitting the two major chest muscles buit then the little ones underneath. When you do an inner chest you are hitting the muscle along the sternum. Hence how you can make one part bigger.
But some muscles you cant do this. For example the Lats you can do the lower part and the upper part.

Funny cause I'm looking at a diagram Infront of me. The minor is more of this downward angle but still not working "the inner" part of the chest. Try googling a picture of chest muscle diagram I'm sure it should come up.

Push the dumbells together (touching).. PALMS IN. incline bench 30% or less. Not flat. bring them down to upper chest. Slow coming down to chest and slow going up. keep as much pressure as you can pushing them together thru out the set.

yea i did. I think that there is some logic to inner chest work...I could be wrong. But I will see soon.

Not throwing bro-science out at ALL! I never read once in a book or heard in any class that I've taken that eating meals every 2 hours has a benefit over larger meals spread out. But I've done it myself and so many other BB across the world. Something is happening during that frequency change.
So working the inner chest. All Bro-science? Sure. Ineffective? Not by a long shot if you ask 1000s of BB. Ha

yes ok.

so then inner chest development occurs only when the overall chest is bigger? I was told this before I think. I cant remember. I am going to try the "inner chest" lifts for a while and see.
