Impotent on cycle, erections come back off

I've tried blood tests, anti-estrogens, workging with docs etc, but it seems that my erections are only reliable if I'm OFF TESTOSTERONE and all other roids, not on, oddly enough. Anyone else get this? This isn't just getting the E too high, ive tried all sorts of methods to balance. I guess that means my body is sending me the signal to stay the fuck off?

Would you elaborate more? Such as what are you taking with testosterone and dosages?

I noticed that I'm hard to balance out as well. I have hypogonadism so I need to be on hormone replacement therapy to function properly. But here's the thing. If I stop everything for a few weeks and then start a therapeutic dose I start to get erections in about a week but then after approximately two weeks they seem to go away.

I've had my estradiol levels checked and they were in normal ranges. I also had prolactin and leutinizing hormone levels checked and my doctor said they were in normal ranges.

I have noticed this when I cycled back in my twenties with heavier gear and to this day while on hormone replacement therapy. I'm nearly fifty years old now.

I do remember using clomid to come off a cycle years ago and had spontaneous erections which made me feel like I was sixteen again. I recently bought some more clomid to see if this happens again. But the thing is I was coming off a cycle back then. I'm currently on TRT and don't plan on ever coming off. So I guess I'm going to experiment to see if anything helps. I'm also going to be looking for some HCG, too, to see if that helps.

With all the ED issues you’ve had in the past I’d toss out all the roids, go natty and never look back if you have recovered boners off roids but lose them on.

hCG would be more effective than clomid especially if you’re on trt. Clomid could potentially make a difference but in my experience when I was on trt hCG made a huge difference. I’d go rhCG for the increase in testicular volume, natural T increase, libido/boners plus uhCG for the increase in semen volume and sensitivity. Totally not necessary to be using both versions as both are hCG and do what hCG does but I’ve noticed in my own extensive use and experimentations with hCG that each specialize in certain areas etc

that´s kinda scary. Aren´t you just fine when TRT get stabilized?

You know? I don't know what it was about Androgel but when I used Androgel I functioned very well sexually. But then my insurance stopped covering it ($300 a month!) so I switched to injectable test. A ten mL vial was $60 and lasted me more than three months! But from that point I could see an unfavorable shift in my erections.

A lot of issues come from hormonal fluctuations are you not giving your body time to adjust to what you’re doing. You can’t guess it’s high e2 then pop and arimidex then guess it’s low e2 and take a double shot. Most of side effects from this especially if your blood work is coming back good is from the fluctuations

You're doing something wrong.

You should do just fine with the proper test dose stabilized.

My understanding is that topical cream/gel gives you higher DHT than an injectable test.

DHT being important for both libido and erectile function, I would get bloods to test that independently from total or free Tesosterone.

Some guys will convert the same level of test into higher or lower DHT than others.

Some guys do injections as their primary TRT, because the topical is so expensive, but then add a very small topical application right to the scrotum (5x higher absorption) every few days as an adjunct.

Well since you're so smart by all means feel free to enlighten me. So far two endocrinologists and my GP can't seem to figure it out for me.

Sorry, I can´t help, Dick-Science is highly subjective.

I am just saying that plenty of TRT users have excellent sexual performance.

Wish you figure out the issue. Peace.

Perhaps like me you do better with fluctuating levels vs this “stable blood levels” repeated online. In the natural state levels fluctuate throughout the day, not like going from 800ng to 250ng but enough to where they recommend when testing T levels you go as early as possible, like before 08:00. When I was on trt I eventually had not so great boners, lost sensitivity, and when I had sex I’d go numb for at least an hour. When I started hCG all of that greatly improved. I can’t say whether it was because of natural T, some other hormone produced because of hCG or if it were the fluctuations, maybe a combination.

It sounds all like a nightmare.

Are you doing fine being natty now? Or did you jump back?

I mean I don’t think it fluctuates that much to where you‘re normal and suddenly you start crying lol. I think similar to a drug like morphine when the body becomes use to a constant level it becomes normal but when there some high/lows you don’t get so use to it. Also when I say fluctuate it wasn’t so much that my levels would crash.

Nah there’s no way I’d jump back on roids anytime soon, if I have to do something cause natty doesn’t work out I’ll just do hCG and/or clomid. I’ve been buying a lot of hCG just in case but atm everything is good, libido is high, like I’ve been getting turned on by grannies lol. Strength is good to, maybe not quite as strong as when I was using roids but libido is much higher which is more important. Was going to get blood tests in feb-March but wasnt able to because of corona. Hopefully things calm down soon and I can finally go,

Thanks for this. I am going to inquire about this next time I see my doctor. Years ago I tried to get another doctor to prescribe me HCG. But she refused and said they don't believe in using that as a means to help normalize men's sexual functioning, testicular size, etc. while on TRT.

I now see a different doctor but he's affiliated with the same univesity/hospital so I'm quite certain they're all of the same mindset. If he won't prescribe it to me I'll have to start looking for a source around on the boards.

It's very hard to find an endocrinologist in my area that's very good at TRT and male sexual health. Most of them focus on diabetes and thyroid health.

This is interesting that you bring this up. Now that you mention it I do notice that when I miss a dose of my TRT in about a day or two I do get "wood." I always found that strange. And like I mentioned earlier, when I go cold turkey for a while and start up again I start to get erections but maybe they tend to cease after a week or so as my blood levels stabilize. I can definitely relate to the loss of feeling and sort of like a numbness down under.

May I ask what dose of HCG you take to help correct and improve your functioning?

Tbh I think it’s a combination of fluctuating levels and the natty hormones from the hCG. You may also like me feel better when you have some natural T levels, and when you trt without hCG you’ll natty T for the first couple weeks.

When I was on trt at first I did 500iu 3x/wk as it had been a year into trt when I started so I thought I’d need more to get a response from my balls. Eventually I was doing like 300-350iu 3x/wk MWF. I always administered my hCG IM, way better than SC ime. When I went off trt I was doing 1000 iu 3x/wk (sometimes higher) for sometime. That was pct tho. The typical dose most on these forums do is 250iu 2x/wk but honestly I think it’s a bit low. When I was on trt I was tight on $ otherwise I’d probably have stayed on 500iu 3x/wk.

All the issues I had on trt, low libido/sensitivity, weak boners etc improved quickly with hCG. If you’re here in the US most drs won’t rx hCG. You’d have to go to one of those trt/men’s clinics if you want to be guaranteed an hCG rx. But a lot of sources here carry hCG.

I’m very curious about all this info. I’m experiencing a lot of these issues and have not had them resolved yet. Getting bloods in a week to determine more info.
They’re testing:
CBC
Creatinine
PSA
Estradiol
TSH
Free Test
SHBG
DHEA_s
B-12
Homeocysteine

My aging doc has me on a shit ton of meds and other stuff to help with my other issues, and the ED and low libido are the remaining and most annoying ones...
