I.U.'s egual how many mgs?

Is this what you really want to know? Normally, HCG is measured in I.U.s per cc. MG is a weight. I have seen this question asked regarding UG HCG and there is an answer, but it is beyond my knowledge.

I have Organon 5000 iu amps with one ml water amps. I'm on Androgel and want to follow Swale's protocol of 250 mgs every three days hcg. I printed up some of his stuff and gave it to my endo but as of yet I don't have a script for it (hcg) yet.

Okay, ml not mg. That is volume. So, if you mix the 5000 IU amp with 1 ml (1ml = 1cc) you get 5000 iu per cc. Now, if you were using an insulin syringe that was measured in 100 units/1cc, you would have 50 ius per 1 unit. 250 IUs would be 5 units. You need to be using insulin syringe. Please do not take my calculations as gospel and recheck my math! I make mistakes or for example, you may be using an insulin syringe that is not 100 units per cc. There are .3 cc and .5 cc syringes.

It's 250 IU's, not 250 milligrams.

My bad. Thanks for the help. So If I've got this right, 5 ticks on a 1 ml insulin pin.

IU to mg conversion

OK, I doubt if anyone is going to read this as the last post was three weeks ago, but here goes.

The IU-to-mg conversion factor is different for each drug.

For HCG, the conversion factor is 1.0, i.e. 1 IU = 1 mg.

(information taken from http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales/clinical_data.html). You might want to save that table to your hard disk.

I am having a hard time using the units. My math was SO much better before they put those letters after my name! This is quite embarrassing for a guy who was an Honors Calculus student.

So, let's apply a little farmer's logic: IF 1IU weighs 1 mg, then a 10,000IU vial would contain 10 grams of HCG. That would be over a third of an ounce. Does that seem right to you?

I recently read the conversion, but honestly cannot remmber it now. It is more like 250IU per mg or something like that.
