I really like Modafinil - even at low doses

As long as I take it before noon, I can be out like a light by 9pm.

ADDED: I'm in the 100mg club as well.

If anything, it's too short acting when taken early, Armoda is better in this regard. I recently learned that even though Modafinil is 50% Armodafinil (R isomer), the presence of the shorter acting S isomer results in R being eliminated faster. So for max duration, you'd want Armodafinil only,

Yes, but if you don't need that max duration the regular moda comes in pretty handy. Moda and armoda both have their use cases which is why I have a nice variety of both.

I’ve been wondering - what would be a good starting dose for Armodafinil? Would 50mg be roughly equivalent to 100mg of Modafinil?

I ordered both Artvigil and Waklert at 50mg each - got enough for about 2 years. Figured that’d make it easier to fine-tune the dose depending on the day.

Me too :)

I had been stacking, as I like the effect of Moda a bit more, but needed longer duration. So I'd take 200 Moda and 50-150 Armoda depending on how long I needed it to last. If past 9AM would only take Moda. .

Now if I get up 5:30AM, for instance, I'll take 150-250 Armodafinil only, and it does seem to last longer on its own.

150 Armodafinil is equivalent to 200 Moda.

250 Armodafinil is equivalent to 400 Moda

(max recommended daily dose of each. you can safely go much higher, but little advantage, only more sides).

So 50 Armoda is not quite 100 Moda.

However, everyone has a different response. My SO is quite happy on 50 Armodafinil, only using 100 Moda on days where it's taken later and she wants shorter duration.

The 50mg doses are handy, and Artvigil 50s are a steal at PCT24. Waklert is very good, marginally better than Artvigil, but the premium....

Artvigil 150 and 250 excellent also. But you could just stock up on 50s and be good, considering how inexpensive they are atm.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown - as always, super helpful. And welcome back after the ban!

Sounds like I made the right call grabbing the 50mg tabs. They’ll give me more flexibility depending on the day, and yeah, at the current price on PCT24, it was kind of a no-brainer. Appreciate the tip on the equivalency too - will start low and see how it goes.

In the military on rare occasions when we would be stuck out on a mission longer than expected and we needed everyone awake our medic would pass out Modafinil or Dexedrine to help everyone stay awake. Dexedrine was definitely better but Modafinil was a nice wakefullness and alertness that I equate to a higher dose of caffeine without the jitters and sick feeling that usually comes with caffeine (for me).

Pretty sure methamphetamine was invented and used for this purpose in WW2-Vietnam era although in modern times it has been supplanted by Dexedrine.

FYI, Dexadrine was banned for military use in 2012 (after it was found to contribute to aircraft crashes). The only "go pill" now is Modafinil.

Also, Zaleplon (sonata) is the authorized "no go" pill. A great short acting sleeping pill that doesn't comprise performance after 5 hours.

Yes, Amphetamine was invented during WW2 by the Germans to keep the Wehrmacht fighting on the Eastern Front.

I like Dexedrine. It's good stuff. Definitely more effective than Modafinil.

I got Dexedrine handed out in Syria by the platoon medic in 2018. Little orange tablets.

We did have to give our names to go on a memo to be signed by the commander because it would make us piss hot for amphetamines.

Sounds like the military lol

I just remembered, those are adhd (Dextroamphetamine) tabs, weaker than adderall, which has that, as well as amphetamine mixed together.

Short acting. Like 4 hours or so, but a definite physical boost, followed by a crash.

Waklert? All of the Waklert I've gotten in the last few years has been bunk. Put me to sleep. Has something changed?

For what it's worth, I have never seen a test showing bunk Moda or Armoda. Not once.

It's very easy to feel nothing on these compounds if the dose is low, others stims have been used recently. or even just used to a different formulation.

This last point is really where the differences lie between brands.

Properly formulated, these compounds have a flat, steady release over the entire period of action, then drop off slowly at the end.

Others have a big spike, so there's a stronger effect despite being the same dose, but it's short lived and drops off fast.

Waklert and Modalert, the high priced "gold standards" from Sun Pharma are very smooth, long acting and consistent from tab to tab. Others are much more intense, but short acting, often with big differences from batch to batch.

I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than another, more a matter of personal preference. I prefer Modawake to Modvigil, both 200mg Modafinil from HAB, but different formulations. Modvigil, which is much more popular than Modawake, uses tabs twice the size of Modawake, has a different taste (due to different excipient ingredients) and you can easily feel the difference between the two despite both testing as 200mg Modafinil consistently.

For Armodafinil Artvigil is very good, a tremendous value vs the Waklert price, but every batch seems different from the last one, in terms of onset, duration, and strength. HAB just doesn't have the QA that a multi-billion giant international company like Sun does. Sun sells many FDA approved meds in the US, while HAB doesn't.

I only take Modvigil or Artvigil because they have consistently worked while Modalert and Waklert have never worked for me. Apparently they used to be the gold standard. I didn't try them until maybe 2021 and every time since then.......bunk. So unless they magically changed back to what they supposedly were, then there's no way anyone is getting anything from them. I can't believe more people aren't talking about this.

Have you tried Modalert recently? I will keep your recommendation for Modawake in mind as I think any time you can get smaller pill size it is better. Less fillers is the idea.

Six different products containing modafinil are sold in Turkey, and I will also list the excipients of these medicines. Which one would be more better?

MODIWAKE 100 MG x 30 tabs
Excipients: Crospovidone, pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, purified water, lactose monohydrate (derived from cow’s milk), colloidal anhydrous silica, talc, magnesium stearate (plant-based).

MODIOGEN 100 MG x 30 tabs
Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, colloidal CL crospovidone, and magnesium stearate.

MODIODAL 100 MG x 30 tabs
Excipients: Lactose monohydrate (derived from cow’s milk), pregelatinized starch (corn), microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, povidone, and magnesium stearate.

MODIVIGIL 100 MG x 30 tabs
Excipients: Lactose monohydrate (derived from bovine milk), pregelatinized starch, croscarmellose sodium, povidone, talc, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate.

CRALIUM 100 MG x 30 tabs
Excipients: Bovine-derived lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose, PVP K 30, crospovidone XL10, and magnesium stearate.

SLEEPEX 100 MG x 30 tabs
Excipients: Lactose monohydrate (Ph. Eur.) (derived from bovine milk), pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose (Type 102), croscarmellose sodium, povidone K30, and magnesium stearate.

Unfortunately, there are no products manufactured by HAB or Sun Pharma available in Turkey, so I do not have access to them. I can't order MODALERT or MODAWAKE from abroad because modafinil is prescription drug and Turkey customs want me to provide doctor prescription all the time.

Modiwake from Generica/Genveon will be the most reliable of those. It's available as an authorized prescribed generic in many countries around the world and will be on par with Modalert from Sun.

Even though I get enough sleep every day and my blood sugar is balanced, I still get sleepy at the wheel when I drive for more than two hours. I also have adhd and refuse to use amphetamines etc. Let's see if modafinil can help me with my problems. I will ask my doctor to prescribe the Genveon Modiwake, thank you

It will definately help with staying alert while driving without the negative effects of amphetamines. You'll have to figure out timing, as onset and duration varies quite a bit depending on your metabolism.
