If the company has anything to do with Freightliner you will be in good shape. When Daimler Chrysler took control of Detroit Diesel from Penski they pretty much took control of the industry because they also own Freightliner. Kenworth, Peterbuilt and International have been running in circles trying to regroup since the buyout. Freightliner now has pretty much a monopoly by being direct to DDC for the #1 selling engine (DDC Ser 60) If anything thats a little info for your first day...for a little chat around the water bubbler with your fellow workers LOL Good luck.

No disrespect bro, but this is CRAP!! It sounds like you are in/near the trucking business. If so, how did FL do on all those guarantee buy-backs a few years ago? FL is more of a liability than an asset to DC. Who are the market share leaders in Heavy, Severe Service, Medium Duty, Bus? I can tell you that FL is not the leader in any of those markets. And as far as engines go....Heavy is dominated by the biggies (Cummins, Cat, DD) and the premier Medium Duty engine is built by International. Oops, I guess this IS a BB site!! LOL

I dont see how what I wrote was CRAP. Everything I wrote is how things have gone down. Will FL make good with the new direct connection w/ DDC? Who knows? But in Mar when they go direct they should expect a good size growth in customer base. But, you are right this is a BB site. Peace
