I made the switch to powerlifting 6 weeks ago

I found that light weight paused squats in the hole helped me with depth issues when I first started... you may try them.

but welcome, man. PL section is always alive—and probably the most friendly / helpful section on Meso, Tbh.

can I ask what your numbers / total is right now?

I still struggle with depth, more so the heavier I go.

I do SSB squat, use squat shoes, squat to milk crate, paused squats all in an attempt to get the depth down pat lol

One reason is the guy I train with who has been powerlifting for 20 plus years uses it. I also have long arms so shorter range of motion and I assumed I could get more power that way because I’m using less of my triceps and more of my back and chest? I place my ring finger on ring as my lineup for grip. It feels different so I think it shook my confidence a little which in turn defeated me before I even made the lift I think. I do like the feel of the grip though so I will just keep plugging away at and build confidence.
Ive been around for a bit and last 15 years condemned to bench only. Im mostly an equipped lifter but have dabbled in raw on occasion. I use to be a wide grip guy ( still am) but I don't preach this to others as I use to. I think what ever is most comfortable for you BUT...……….What I feel is the most important aspect neglected by benchers is lat usage and scapula retraction. That is easier to learn with wide grip and as proficiency improves move back into a narrower grip if comfortable but never , never break technique. You will have to take a few steps back and relearn to take a few steps forward. Powerlifting technique and bodybuilding form are two totally separate concepts. bigbenchas.com is a great site. Digest all of his videos and enjoy a few "ahaa" moments for yourself. Like above , the guys on this forum are the most mature respectful and helpful group on meso. Don't try to be a big bencher with bodybuilder technique, you will eventually get hurt. Welcome to the darkside we are all here to help

Bench is 350 -365 . I got 365 then I changed grips and failed but I know I can get 350.

Deadlift is 455

Squat is only 315 which is kind of embarrassing because I had no idea how to properly squat before.

Nice bench, man. Everyone has their bad lifts—mine is bench, unfortunately. Lol.
