Ive been around for a bit and last 15 years condemned to bench only. Im mostly an equipped lifter but have dabbled in raw on occasion. I use to be a wide grip guy ( still am) but I don't preach this to others as I use to. I think what ever is most comfortable for you BUT...……….What I feel is the most important aspect neglected by benchers is lat usage and scapula retraction. That is easier to learn with wide grip and as proficiency improves move back into a narrower grip if comfortable but never , never break technique. You will have to take a few steps back and relearn to take a few steps forward. Powerlifting technique and bodybuilding form are two totally separate concepts. bigbenchas.com is a great site. Digest all of his videos and enjoy a few "ahaa" moments for yourself. Like above , the guys on this forum are the most mature respectful and helpful group on meso. Don't try to be a big bencher with bodybuilder technique, you will eventually get hurt. Welcome to the darkside we are all here to help
