phreezer suggested i move my post here so here goes...
hey guys. soulpower here. used to be a regular poster about 3 years ago. time flies...
got one of many rants i'd like to share and hopefully somebody can help a bruddah out.
me: 6'0" currently 182lbs (83 kilos), born endomorph. been weightlifting somewhat consistently since i was 15 (about 17 years).
anyway i've always been a skinny f*ck, but in 2002-3 for about a year i went ape shit and trained religiously 3 times a week with a dude 100 pounds heavier than me. added a little winny and tren along the way, got up to 185 lbs, lifting pretty good weights for my size. it was great.
fast forward- i move to japan, and in 6 months of crappy diet and NO TRAINING (no money for good food or gym here- too expensive) i expectedly drop all the way to 170. blah.
i get a good job and start working out again in March. now i am up to 182, lifting ok weight on the bench but quite weak everywhere else (expected).
problem is during all this time my gut just keeps getting bigger and bigger. i always make room for some ab exercises (torso twists or exercise ball crunches). mind you my diet is probably sh*t and i have a desk job so this is more than likely a cause.
so i started clen. NOTHING. absolutely nothing. even with cutting down on the carbs.... hmmm... what gives?
i have tried weighted crunches and such but IMHO they make by ab muscles BIGGER instead of keeping them in...
ok- diet: in japan not much of a choice.
usually:
breakfast (8:30AM)
toast/protein shake/cereal (corn flakes)
Lunch (1:30PM)
eat out with co-workers, usually japanese food or occasionally curry all-you-can-eat
Snack (5pm)
protein bar (japanese crappy ones with like 7g protein)
dinner (8PM, yes 8pm, too long to go without eating but i get off at 7 and want to eat with the wife)
something made by the wife, usually japanese style mix meat and veggies with rice or sometimes soba
workout schedule: t/th/sa/sun, usually not much time so i do mentzer-ish workouts with usually one warmup set and one heavy set for 6-8 reps per exercise, 3-5 exercises per bodypart.
anyway back to the main rant... nothing i do can get rid of this nasty layer of fat... grrr... be happy if anyone could offer my some non-flame suggestions.
