How to cure paxil dick?

"ever hear the term 'psychosomatic'? look it up before you call bullshit!"

i won't clog the boards with stupid shit anymore, just wanted to say my piece...

psychosomatic disease: Of or relating to a disorder having physical symptoms but originating from mental or emotional causes.

true, in some cases where peole have gone through some form of emotional stress, but this is less common, and often these people do seek out other forms of help...counseling etc...

but you're saying that depression can't be caused from an idiopathic chemical imbalance...bullshit...these drugs correct low serotonin levels...and not everyone with a low serotonin level has gone through some mental or emotional stress...lots of people have some unlucky inherited gene that either just doesn't make the shit, or else upregulates receptors for it so that there is a natural depletion in the CNS...and as far as i know, counseling doesn't have the power to change gene function or make your body produce depleted chemicals, otherwise i wouldn't be reading this board...i'd be counseling my nuts on how to upregulate some more test production

just my $.02
peace

Chip, I agree and thanks for the stock tip. The only thing is true psychosomatic disorders are physical symptoms that are created by the mind. Psychosomatic disorders are things like conversion disorder and depression does not fit this class.
In adults the majority of depression is the result of life events and ongoing difficulties. Neurotransmitters can efffect mood if low (as seen in some MDMA users due to decreased serotonin). More importantly many believe that NT levels in your brain are in line with where your thinking and feelings are. Hence, if you have a negitive schema your NT's will reflect this. If you change your thinking you change how you feel and as well balanxce out your NT levels. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (a form of psychotherapy) has proven to be as effect and often more effective then antidepressants (66% to 63%). These findings have been proven over and over as well as with meta and mega alanysis. Further, the relaspe rates for those treated with antidepressants (60%) are far higher than those treated with CBT (29.5%) and other reasearch has indicated as low as 12% for CBT and as high as 80% for antidepressants. This is important b/c the more episodes you have the more likely you will have another (after suffering 2 episodes of depression you stand a 90% chance of having a 3rd). Antidepressants are cardiotoxic and can be toxic to the liver, often used in suicide attempts, have higher drop outs rate, 60% of people have no symptom decrease. B/c of sides many people stop them prematurely or jump from drug to drug as can be seen throughout the thread. CBT can typically be completed in 15 to 25, 50 minute sessions with the sessions eventually going from 1x a week to 2 to 3. Research further indicates that in 4 year foillow up studies cleints were still depression free. This is not to say you will never have a bad day. Sometimes meds are needed but often they are not for mild to moderate depression. The reason meds have recieved so much attention is b/c of the big buss. of drug companies. On another note the research on AS use is very limited but we are all well aware that they can create some serious psychological side effects. This has been far to long but there are links to AS use and psychosis, depression, suicide, and general psychopathology. For those of you questioning if there is a link between psychopathology and bodybuilding and AS use- well just look at all the posts this has recieved and all the attempts people ahve made to correct the depressive symptoms. Realize also that high cortisol levels have been found in depressed individuals and it is assumed that cortisol can deepen depressed states. Yeah, we are a sick bunch but I love you guys anyway.
