How much protein supplement is too much?

You guys think 3 scoops of whey protein a day is too much? I have been eating on a deficit for a couple months now and recently started increasing my calories to get ready to start bulking. This week I jumped up 250 calories and next week I'll bump it back up to maintenance calories. I would like to get 1.3g/lb of protein for my bulk but it is difficult for me to eat that much whole food; hence 3 scoops of protein shake.

Should I try to cram in more chicken and eggs or just drink the shakes and be happy.

Protein powder is a supplement, meant to supplement what you can't get from real food. The point is to not rely on it to get most or all of your daily protein requirements.

3 a day is fine, as long as you're not overdoing protein intake as a whole and messing up kidney function, which at your purposed 1.3 grams per pound shouldn't be an issue.

I use the protein powder only as a flavoring in my shakes.
In shakes
Protein: Egg Whites , Milk
Carbs : Oats , Banana
Fat : Penaut Butter
Flavoring: Whey if I'm bulking and need those cals I change the whey with some good gainer

Impacts to the kidneys of high protein diets is overstated unless you have an existing kidney issue. So not really a concern if it’s monitore.

Thank you for they replies. I'll keep my diet as I have it planned then; 1 scoop pre/post workout and 1 before bed.

Thanks.
